About this listen

Welcome back to the Mist … in the astonishing sequel to the NYT instant bestseller, To Kill a Shadow …

Some fear the darkness. It’s the place where horror hides, concealing its rank, sharp teeth and insatiable hunger. But there is no darkness more feared than that of the mist that’s overtaken the kingdom … and its brave—and ultimately doomed—soldiers.

Except for Kiara Frey.

She has nothing to fear from the night. Not anymore.

Driven by the fury of her splintered heart, Kiara knows that the answers—and the only possible way to a future with Jude Maddox—begin with the realm’s most notorious thief, the Fox. Together, they hunt down the path to breaking Asidia’s dark curse, but in the shadows, something more horrifying than the mist lies in wait. Watching. Willing Kiara to find the game pieces set in place long ago.

As Jude and Kiara are lured to a sacred temple—a shrine that is the home to both exquisite dreams and chilling nightmares—Kiara’s newfound powers flourish but her shadows threaten to consume her.

Because here in these cursed lands, it’s not the darkness that destroys the soul … it’s love.

Fantastic ending to a solid dualogy, but….

I loved this story and the narrators, buuuut, I’m one of those people who can’t stand the sound of eating and drinking. Every time the female narrator took a drink in the middle of reading, it took me out of the story and made me want to give up on listening. Still giving 5 stars due to that being a ME issue lol. If you’re like me though and can’t stand those kinds of sounds, this audiobook may not be for you

Epic adventure

What an absolutely epic ending to this intense, twisty, heartbreaking adventure.
Jude & Ki have so far to go and so many barriers they have to overcome to save the kingdom and bring back the sun.
They have so many hurdles they have to face, threats, challenges, betrayals. This was non stop action. It’s filled with hope, forgiveness, found family, and love.
So if you want an action packed adventure with lovable characters, angst, frustration, found family and magic, you won’t want to miss this!

Wishing for it to end

I'm not sure why but this whole 2nd book i was just wishing for it to end already. it was kinda boring. despite the action in it. probably because the female narrator ruined the story. OMG SO MANY MOUTH NOISES. it started to make me wince. and then that's all I could focus on. was her NOISES. I can't believe audible put this out in the store with that bad quality!!! wtf??? YUCK!!!

as for the story, it was only ehhh for me. I really didn't like Kiara or Jude. their names are silly. which for me matters. maybe not to others but for me it takes away from the story. For me, it made me not like the characters from the start. 👎

also @Audible, this series is called 'Mistlands' (not Kill a Shadow).
