Publisher's summary

If every man is a master of time, then what of the man who loses track of it?

A viscount's son and a bare knuckle boxer, Michael Cunningham is more interested in building his fortune than spending time at the Marriage Mart. But long ago, he promised his mother he would get married "if not before, then on the eve of my 28th birthday."

Reminded by his sister, a duchess, that his next birthday is his 28th birthday, Michael realizes he has much to do in the three weeks he has to keep his promise - not the least of which is to secure the only woman he has ever considered for a wife - the younger daughter of his business partner and the very woman his sister has just hired to be a governess!

The duchess will rescind her offer of employment to Olivia Waterford, but there's no time for courtship, no time for banns to be read, and certainly no time to wait for a wedding to be planned once Michael proposes. His sister has the perfect plan, though. In order to meet his mother's deadline and ensure a quick marriage, she insists Michael must ruin Olivia.

Olivia has felt affection for her father's business partner since the day he rescued her from a rake. But since the gentleman never showed a romantic interest in her during his frequent visits to her family's home in Shipley, imagine her shock when he climbs into her bed and is discovered by her father. Ruined, indeed!

Now, married and living in London, Michael is sure Olivia despises him for what happened, while Olivia is quite sure her husband has feelings for her sister and simply wandered into the wrong bedchamber that fateful Tuesday night.

Will a week be enough time for Michael to court his new wife and convince her of his affections? Or, will he regret his last-minute efforts to accomplish too much in too little time? Only time will tell in Tuesday Nights.

Lovely muddled male lead

I thoroughly enjoyed the hamhandedness of the main male character although like most romances of this nature, some actions seem a touch contrived to drive the plot. I liked that love crosses class lines and that older couples have their romantic relationships. I very much enjoy this author and will read many more of her books. The voice of the reader had some excellent sultry huskiness for the Edward character ( I believe) but used a less subtle voice for others. I became used to his delivery but wished he had used the nicer parts of his voice more often. That said I would definitely recommend this book and author to romance readers.

Absent Minded Noble

Where does Tuesday Nights rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Reading Regency books is something I hardly ever do but listening to them has become a new favorite of mine. I prefer a different era so I can't say it would be in my top 10 but very close.

What did you like best about this story?

The story line and how Michael was so clueless, made for a very cute story. Who forgets how old one is? His heart was always in the best place and sometimes misunderstood. I always love when the clueless man realizes his true feelings.

Which character – as performed by Scott Richard Ehredt – was your favorite?

Michael, of course. I love how he is so funny without trying to be. The narrator's voice really captured the nobility attitude and voice. I could actually see the characters in my mind, just like a movie.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Absent Minded Noble

Any additional comments?

I can't wait to read more of Linda's books.

too long

How could the performance have been better?

A different narrator.

Any additional comments?

First of all, the narration was terrible. Ehredt spoke throughout in declaratory tones, as if he was trying to make himself heard to the seats in the far FAR back row. That may just be his normal voice, but it didn't work for me with this material. Everything felt forced and over-rehearsed. Nuance was utterly lost. I plan to actively avoid his narration in future books, that's how much I disliked it.

This is a pretty long listen, and I found myself checking the time left very early on in the book...never a good sign. I did like the story, and I know it's the start of a series so the author was laying ground work for future installments, I imagine. However, two secondary love stories is one too many, and we also have two older couples who take up a bit of the attention. I felt the story was much in need of trimming, tightening up the plot threads and condensing some of the internal musings each character experiences. It was never plausible to me that the H was so resistant to marriage, even after he was financially successful and the h was old enough to marry.

The major characters were all likable and fairly well-drawn, and I did enjoy learning about their lives and relationships. I would have liked to meet the H's reprobate brother at least once since he plays a huge role in this story. I could have lived without the h's sister entirely, however. She just existed to serve as a point of conflict, and that could have been accomplished in other, more creative ways.

All in all, it was a decent story, no fireworks but hey...they can't all be gems, can they? I'm quite unlikely to rec the audio to anyone, but the print book might be worth a look. And I'll warn anyone who asks about this narrator to avoid him if at all possible.

Tuesday Nights: Evening Delight!

Would you listen to Tuesday Nights again? Why?

Yes I would! Mainly because it was so much fun to listen to.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the way everything was wrapped up so neatly and everyone's ending was very happy.

Have you listened to any of Scott Richard Ehredt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him. His character's voices and accents were spot on! (To me anyway lol) I would most definitely enjoy listening to him again.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh at times, and there were many, many smiles.

Any additional comments?

This was a very sweet, at times hot, story. I am very happy to have had the pleasure to listen to it.

boring

definitely struggled to finish it. Can't recommend this book it all. The descriptive content and story line weren't enough for the length of the novel.

Good Story line. Bad Narrator.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No I would not recommend this to a friend unless narrators do not bother them.

Who was your favorite character and why?

El was my favorite character because she is the typical spoiled older sister.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I did not think the narrator got into the characters and portrayed them as they should.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Michael promises his mother he will get married by his birthday, mother power in this case.

Dragging-SLOW Narrator 15 Hours! Couldn't Finish

Olivia is saved by Michael as she is having a disagreement with another man. Michael swoops in and saves her from any sort of violence.

That is about all I can tell you about this book. Olivia and Michael have strong personalities that conflict and compliment one another.

This is a very long book, 15 hours!

Unfortunately the narrator was extremely slow. Even when I changed the settings to allow for a faster listen, it still was not helpful to me at all.

I love Regency romances, but in this case it was a long book with a a good narrator, but it was just too hard to listen to and the culmination of a slow story and a slow performer just about did me in.

I don't know how it could be improved for me. Perhaps shortening it or a different narrator. But there's so much going on in the one book that it made it hard for me to pay attention to. , I just couldn't listen.

Two Sisters and a Hero

Tuesday Nights has two stories involved. The primarily story is Michael Cunningham and Olivia Waterford and the second story is Edward and Anna's story. Both story intertwined with each other that at one point, the question is which story is the author focusing on.

Michael has decided to make his fortune being a second son of a viscount. What he didn't expect was to rescue Olivia from a rake who was trying to steal a kiss from her and learning that she is the daughter of his business partner.

Since the day that Michael has rescued her, Olivia has hero-worshiped Michael. What she didn't know is that her father has warned Michael not to court her for few more years or until her oldest sister, Eloise is married first.

Everything became more scrambled when Michael rescued and became Eloise's protector and then realized that he needed to marry Olivia by his 28th birthday in order to keep his promise to his Mother. The only way for Michael to remedy his situation with Eloise is to matchmake her with someone decent and respectable. Olivia believed that Michael is in love with Eloise and Michael believed Olivia hates him for ruining her. Just when Michael and Eloise finally became comfortable with their feeling for each other, his best friend, Edward goes and cause more problems between them with the best of intention. It is to a point where Michael and Olivia might not reconciled their feeling to each other.

The story is OK because there is just too much going on that the readers/listeners might not like focusing on two major storylines and a minor storyline in the book. If the story was focused on just Michael and Olivia, it might be a bit more enjoyable.

The best point of the story was when Michael revealed what Tuesday nights meant to him to Olivia.

The narrator, Scott Richard Ehredt does a good job. His voice is a bit masculine and husky for the female characters.

I was given this audiobook by the author via Audiobook Blast in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.
