About this listen

"I believe we can change the world if we start talking to one another again."

With this simple declaration, Margaret Wheatley proposes that citizens band together with their colleagues and friends to create the solutions for social change, both locally and globally, that are so badly needed. Such change will not come from governments or corporations but from the ageless process of thinking together in conversation. Turning to One Another encourages this process.

Critic reviews

"Those looking for some worksheet-packed, three-step plan for organizational harmony won't find it here. Those willing to take a slower, harder, more thoughtful and likely more rewarding path to better relations on any level...will be truly moved and genuinely inspired." (Amazon.com)

Painful to get through

I constantly caught myself looking at how much time is remaining. She has a few good points, but they could be covered in one page.

Save us from author readings...

I cannot say whether this woman is a good writer or not. I can only say that her reading is unbearable. I would rather eat this book than listen to it.

Not what I expected

I was excited to listen to this book but soon tuned out because I was disappointed with the numerous times the author used South Africa as an example of hideous behavior in the past, especially during the apartheid regime. While I, in no shape or form, support segregation based on race or class, I thought she harped on the white people of South Africa, making wide-sweeping statements casting all white South African in a negative light. I would ask the author to see the current situation in South Africa and perhaps include more recent examples of how white farmers are not only murdered but butchered, and all South Africans suffer mentally and economically in the current dysfunctional and corrupt political disposition. Also, as an author from the US, are there not more examples to draw from your history instead of looking over the pond?

only if you have too.

Had to read for a class I'm taking. Otherwise, I rather not have invested time in this book.

Just fluff

This is just fluff. Don’t waste your time. It is a striving after wind. This work is filled with few real conclusions. Instead, it is a albeit somewhat nuanced regurgitation of the thoughts of others. It is regurgitated precisely because the thoughts have not been processed but only repeated in a sappy and most u intelligent manner.
