Publisher's summary

When protective entities like LLCs and corporations fail and businesses risk piercing of the corporate veil, experienced legal guidance is imperative. In Veil Not Fail, Garrett Sutton, Esq., the author of several books on entities and entity protect, explores potential risks and weak spots in LLCs and corporations and helps listeners better prepare for what he considers an inevitability: It isn't "if you'll be sued"; it's when.

Great energy with lots of stories!

This book covers a wide swath of topics in details, told through many-a-story that illustrated key points.

I listened as I went for walks and notes things I must do, watch out for, and correct before too much time passes.

I’m most grateful for the high level understanding it provided as it also covered principals to follow to keep me out of trouble! The specific stories also will help me to spot or warn others of any res flags.

I’m glad I read this as I feel much more prepared to properly navigate my business in the years to come.

Now it’s time to read the hard back!

Late to the Game, Cause I wanted to learn First!

I am late to the business game; somehow, I regret not starting at a younger age. Now at 40+, I understand that I would have most likely failed as I did try and failed a bunch of online businesses with big promises. Now that I look back, I am glad that my timing was perfect. 2020 woke me up, and Garrett Sutton's books significantly impacted my business and how I want it to be structured. Watching my last employer receive a class action lawsuit was a great learning experience. So, I say to myself, how can I protect my business and my partners from a court case (which is inevitable) but at least try and take action. This book has action steps, guides, and great stories that anyone in business can relate to by hearing and doing.

Painful to listen to

Main points get lost in all of the painfully over explained topics… nothing ever got to the point. If you are a history major this may be for you…. If you want to learn more about the “how to” this is not for you… if you are interested in “why” then you may enjoy it… but it is very slow paced.

No explanation of how to utilize the Corp, only explains what they are.

Great if you have no idea what a Corp is and want all the info. Useless if you already know what a Corp is and are looking for strategy examples. This made is useless for my purposes.

I discovered this book during a Rich Dad podcast. In the podcast they spoke about setting up each property in a Corp (or other protected entity) along with a few common issues.

This book does a phenomenal job at explaining what I already know: What a Corp is, fiduciary duties, piercing the veil, and scenarios where mistakes were made.

What I expected was a book explaining how he explained and setup “Rich Dad’s” real estate. Given this is a Rich Dad advisor book I don’t think that is an unreasonable expectation. It doesn’t do that.

It explains each corp needs its own bank account, EIN, etc and even explains a single enterprise rule but no examples of how real estate rentals could be structured within their own Corp to separate them to limit liability amongst the various rentals.

Great if you have no idea what a Corp is and want all the info. Useless if you already know what a Corp is and are looking for strategy examples.
