Publisher's summary

Are you taking calcium or vitamin D? This book could save your life!

Learn the secret to avoiding osteoporosis and heart disease. Millions of people take calcium and Vitamin D supplements thinking they're helping their bones. The truth is, without the addition of Vitamin K2, such a health regimen could prove dangerous. Without Vitamin K2, the body cannot direct calcium to the bones where it's needed; instead, the calcium resides in soft tissue, like the arteries, leading to a combination of osteoporosis and atherosclerosis, or the dreaded "calcium paradox".

This is the first book to reveal how universal a Vitamin K2 deficiency is and the risk (in the form of cancer and diabetes, among other ailments) that the absence of Vitamin K2 poses. Written by Dr. Kate Rheaume-Bleue, a popular health expert on Canadian television and radio, Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox sounds a warning about the popularity of the calcium and Vitamin D craze, while illustrating the enormous health benefits of Vitamin K2 in making the body less susceptible to dental cavities, heart disease, prostate cancer, liver cancer, diabetes, wrinkles, obesity, varicose veins, and other ailments.

Excellent information. We'll presented.

This book has a tremendous amount of data on not on K2, but also on vitamins D and A as well. It's also presented very clearly and easy to understand.

Can't live without your butter?

It's alright if your butter is from raw milk from grass fed organic raised cows.

I suffered from coronary calcium plaque at age 30

Update 2: Switched back to MK7 but am taking a small amount of 25 mcg every 2 days (for about 1 month). I feel super and have no side effects! I'll tweak it again maybe in about 2 months by increasing the amount of MK7 and adding D3 into the mix. I'll update this review once I have more.

Update 1: I switched to MK4 because MK7 has too long of a half-life and I get side effects such as heart pain and palpitations (from MK7). I suspect this is because my diet is low in Calcium or D3, but not sure. Regarding D3, I have vitiligo so I can't stay in the sun too much. Anyway, MK4 is great so far, with no side effects.

I was taking vitamin D for a number of months and had a very poor diet with mostly fast food and I developed a lot of calcium plaque (tested) which had a lot of symptoms such as heart pain without any physical provocation and irregular heartbeats. Most of the time when I would get off the couch I would almost faint that's how bad it was. I found this book by accident while I was reading about electrolyte imbalances. I read the book in 2 days and bought an MK7 supplement. Then I took 100 mcg every day. My symptoms almost cleared within a week but not fully. It took around a month to be able to enjoy lite exercises. After that, I stopped taking K2 and my symptoms came back within 3 months, and now I'm back on K2 again.
Long story short I definitely recommend reading this book and... don't take vitamin D without K2 as I did.

Best Book on K2

I'm a huge believer in the benefits of K2 and other fat soluble vitamins. Having read about Weston Price and so called Activator X, I was eager to learn more about the benefits of K2. I was actually quite surprised to find a book solely dedicated to this one vitamin. This book provides all the information one needs and then some. I still go back and listen to this audio book when I'm on the treadmill.

K2 and fat soluble vitamins like A and D are great, but you still need to be an informed consumer if you plan to use them. A book like this goes a long way in providing that needed information.

Must read

I don't understand why people don't have this information handy for them to use. This blows veganism out of the water.
