Publisher's summary
The number one New York Times best-selling Red Queen series comes to a stunning conclusion in which the final battle lines are drawn and the stakes have never been higher.
Victory comes at a price.
Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal's betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart - and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her - Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all... starting with the crown on Maven's head.
But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal's powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means demolishing everything - and everyone - in his path.
War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced?
In the epic conclusion to Victoria Aveyard's stunning series, Mare must embrace her fate and summon all her power... for all will be tested, but not all will survive.

She must disguise herself to stay alive, using ancient shape-shifting magic, until her new master has selected his three wishes. But when the King of the Jinn offers Zahra a chance to be free of her lamp forever, she seizes the opportunity, only to discover that she is falling in love with Aladdin.

Finished
I loved the narrators, that they had different voices for each major player. The story itself was good, but I do have one complaint. It didn't tie up the loose ends like I was hoping it would. It felt more open ended than the last book of a series should be. I wanted more of a conclusion, more of a happy ending. But I did still enjoy it, even with an unsatisfactory ending.

An unnecessarily open ending...
I always knew it would be no small feat for Victoria Aveyard to end the series with a book more amazing than the earlier ones. It was a job really well done too... until the epilogue. I would expect an ending like this if we were to eagerly await another installment. But I was left feeling robbed of closure. What a difference just one epilogue could have made...

Love the series! but some hit and misses with #4
I love the variety of voices! Great story, but the 4th book had a couple of misses with me compared to #1,2,3. The scenes kept shifting to where I couldn't keep up sometimes, and the story had a couple of rushed moments. Honestly, Mare was a bit annoying in #4. She was written to appear "strong," but came off as weak and TOO reliant on powers she's barely had for 1 year. Her personality dipped down as the story went by from 1-4. She was best in Red Queen. She had WAY TOO MUCH attitude towards her friends and family to where she needed to chill. I understand why people were disappointed with the ending, honestly Mare overreacted a little and could've been nicer to Cal. AND Cal needs to get over himself. I hate how he was upset with Mare because she killed Maven BECAUSE SHE WAS BEING CHOKED TO DEATH! Yeah, okay Cal, she should've just let herself die so you wouldn't be upset. Overall, loved this series, ending could've been better.

Great book series.
This last book left me wanting. Overall the series was dynamic and emotionally relatable, but I was disappointed both by how the story ended and the way the author rushed through development in the 3rd and 4th books.

Good series
I hope she has been working on the next book... I was not that impressed with the ending if this was really the end..

fantastic series
I wanted to savor every second of this last book. i loved finally hearing the story from kal and maven's viewpoints. while i wished for a more happy ending the ending was very much realistic with the story. it ended tied up in a pretty bow.

wonderfully different
the story line was delicious. I could not wait for the next book to come out, but I wished for much more in the ending.
