Resumen del Editor

What's holding you back? Your hard work is paying off. You are doing well in your field. But there is something standing between you and the next level of achievement. Perhaps one small flaw, a behavior you barely even recognize, is the only thing that's keeping you from where you want to be.

Who can help? Marshall Goldsmith is an expert at helping global leaders overcome their (sometimes unconscious) annoying habits and attaining a higher level of success. His one-on-one coaching comes with a six-figure price tag. But with this audiobook, you'll get Marshall's great advice without the hefty fee!

What is the solution? The Harvard Business Review asked Goldsmith, "What is the most common problem faced by the executives that you coach?" Inside, he answers this question by discussing not only the key beliefs of successful leaders, but also the behaviors that hold them back. He addresses the fundamental problems that often come with success and offers ways to attack them. Goldsmith outlines 20 habits commonly found in the corporate environment and provides a systematic approach to helping executives achieve a positive change in behavior.

Not a teaching book

This should be more an autobiography, than a "self help" book. I listened to this book because it was mentioned in another self help communication book. The whole book was more about the author and his accomplishments than it was about how can you change you. The narrator is wonderful. He had a steady pace and calming voice. I would not recommend this book unless they want to hear how the author was a successful CEO coach.

Great Book on Self Awareness and Improvement

I loved this book! I plan to re-read/listen to parts of it based on the lessons, stories and solutions the author provided. Anyone looking to learn and grow with a focus on self improvement should read this book!

Ego Buster

Reading through a second time after promotion, and totally different things are standing out. It beat up my ego and is helping me actually improve despite that pesky human nature stuff.

Life changing book

Everyone should read this book. I was expecting it to be focused on work, and yes, it’s crucial insight for the corporate world. But even people that don’t work would benefit from reading this book. It’s really about interpersonal skills and empathy.

I also found this book easy to listen to in 10 minute increments.

truth

it's the best leadership book of them all. While earning my EMBA, I read 2 to 3 dozen such books and they all paled in comparison to this one.

Meh...

Any additional comments?

Yes, the book makes valid points - There may be times when the talents that got you to your current successful position are now preventing you from going further. It's sort of the "promoted to your level of incompetence" thing. I just don't think it needs to ramble on so long. Feels like the book was made bigger for marketing reasons rather than informational value. However, I've definitely listened to worse books and this one's "good". Not great, but good enough. Also, it was read well. Again, I've heard much worse. The narrator is professional and speaks well.
