About this listen

I never thought I’d find love. I spent all of high school watching others pair up, my little gay heart slowly withering in despair… until the fateful summer night that I met Tim. His meaty muscles and smoldering silver eyes already haunt my dreams. And I know for a fact that he’s lonely like me. I’ve been taking care of Tim ever since he got into an accident that was technically my fault, but the healing he needs goes so much deeper than that. I need him too. With any luck, I’ll end senior year with the man of my dreams at my side. Assuming, of course, that he's not just another curious straight guy.

Jay Bell breathes new life into the cherished Something Like… series, returning to the very beginning to explore Ben’s profound feelings for Tim. The story has never been so intimate before, or so revealing. This isn’t Something Like Summer. It’s exactly like love!

Thank you Jay Bell

Falling back into the world of Ben and Tim made me pick up Something Like Summer again. This one really helped a hopeless romantic gay guy accept his heartbreak just like the original series did. Time to make my way through them all again.

Ben and Tim Return!

I am a huge Jay Bell fan, and the Something Like series made me a fan of his work. I've read/listened to all the Something series books and graphic novel interpretations. I love that Kevin R. Free returned to narrate this because he is indeed the voice of the Something Like Characters. Fans of Bell will enjoy it.
This version does have a few differences from the original Something Like Summer, and I am curious how different Ben's time with Jace will be in the second book.

Frustratingly heartfelt

Won’t spoil the story. Great rollercoaster of a book. I felt and identified with the main characters so easily.

Loved but......

I love Jay Bell and the Something Like Seies. I only with this story stayed true to his other books. there were some inconsistencies in this version of things. overall, I loved the book. I'd take more of Ben and Tim anyway even with the inconsistency lol

Tim is useless

Im sorry to say, but i've hardly ever met a less appealing lover for the main character. Tim is garbage as a lover, as a protector and as a citizen.

That said, if the storyteller is fully aware of these facts. The writing itself is very good, even if i get so annoyed i want to punch Tim every second paragraph.

More of Ben and Tim!

These two are like family who I love to spend time with. Jay Bell has crafted Something Like Perfection in this book. I was hooked from beginning to end. Kevin R Free returns to do his magic with his fantastic narration. Great book!

Another amazing story from this author

If this is your first book by this author, trust me go back and read the original set of books, the Something Like series, that inspired this book. This author has never failed to give me a five star read.

Wrong Person for Narration

I couldn't even finish. The narration does not match up at all. As a Gay man I expected a teen voice, many narrators if not an actual teen, have teen voice characters. This was like a 30 year old man, adding a gay twang to his voice and his additional character voices were just awful, I took the time to listen to some other titles he has narrated and they sound good...this was not the book for him.
