About this listen

New York Times best seller, Pepper Winters, delivers a brand new High Fantasy Romance.

“It’s taking everything I have not to touch you. Not because I want to make you mine but because every part of me screams that you already are.”

A pack of wolves hunt a girl who takes her last breath by a river’s edge.

She is found and nursed back to health by the kind-hearted Nhil people.

She has no memory.

No past.

And is given a choice that could change her forgotten life forever.

A pack of wolves adopt a man who begs for death in the grasslands.

Blood revives him. Flesh strengthens him. All while the alpha watches him as if he knows who he is.

He has no memory.

No past.

And yet…he’s drawn toward the smoke of a faraway clan.

And in that smoke, he finds a girl with the same mark on her thigh, the same empty mind, and the same forgotten language on her lips.

He’s convinced they know each other.

She’s certain they are strangers.

But the more time they spend together, the more tangled the truth becomes.

Their forgetfulness was deliberate.

To keep them apart.

To keep them lost.

To keep them from claiming their true power.

Because in that power exists a terrible choice.

A choice that could destroy the world……or each other.

When a Moth Loved a Bee is the first volume in the Epic Fantasy Romance Destini Chronicles.

A heavily romantic, spice-filled fantasy set in a world where life and death, shadows and stars watch over two forbidden lovers whose powers are best left forgotten.

Recommended for listeners over 18 due to explicit scenes, content, and darker elements.

Author Note: This fantasy is 100 percent romance. If you want a rich world, magic, intrigue, oodles and oodles of time with the two characters together, all brimming with longing, forbiddenness, and butterfly-winging moments, then this is the book for you.

Epic fantasy romance!

Pepper Winters is a master storyteller, and her dive into fantasy is incredible. We have a man and a woman with no memory. He is taken in by a pack of wolves, she is taken in by the Nhil. But when they see each other, there are feelings of familiarity and glimpses of the past. Now our story begins. Winters gives us imagery that takes us to the clans, the wolves, and meeting with the elements, and it's so clear, I could see the movie in my mind. Each scene brings a new feeling or memory, leaving me wondering who to trust, do they really have a past, what should they do, what is the answer? I was constantly trying to figure things out! But in true Pepper style, she kept me guessing and the ending left me shocked and wondering! This is an epic beginning to what is going to be a phenomenal series.

The narration is impeccable for this story. Tor Thom and Fiona Clare take on so many voices, each perfectly fitting the character they are portraying. They pulled me into the story and kept me engaged for hours! Thom brings out the alpha male in the stranger, and then pulls out an elements voice in the next scene! Clare has a lot of women, interacting and creating the Nhil community. The duet is seamless and makes this fantastic story that much more exciting.

A long journey to find you forgotten lovr

I listened to this book over the course of a couple of days. it kept frustrating me how one person knew that they love this other person, regardless of whether they knew the name of the person or who this person was in their past life. at the end my feelings were so caught up in the two main characters that I almost cried. there were so many tragic things that happened to these lovers, only trying to find each other and convince each other that their love was right and everyone else is wrong. I hope that there might be a part two to this book . I would hate that it would end forever like this . I'd like to know what happened to both characters . worth the credit

Can’t wait for the next book in this series! Fantastic change of scenery for the same amazing authorship of Ms. Winters.

Riveting

When A Moth Loved A Bee was an entertaining book to listen to. Fantasy is not a genre that I would normally listen to but, since I love pepper Winters and Tor Thom’s narration, I dove in.
There was so much going on with this story and Tor Thom and Fiona Clara did a great job with their performances. It is a story with plenty of secrets, and I was on the edge of my seat whilst listening trying to figure out who could be trusted and who couldn’t, and I admit I was kept guessing (often incorrectly) at times.

It’s my third time experiencing this book… and no my last!

I’ve read the book twice, and now I’ve listened to it .. and my breath is still stolen by so many part of it.. but the ending… it is something beyond heart breaking. Runa and Darrow have become my absolute favorite book people.. and this book put Pepper Winters at the top of my best read list.

In my review of the book, I said if you’ve read “The Clan of The Cave Bear” you’ll love this book.. and I still hold to that. The entire story and how the elements are woven into these people make it an absolutely epic read and listen. Nothing I’ve read in a long time compares to this!

Add to that Tor Thoms voice and Fiona Clare.. and it adds so much! It’s a must read, must listen.. I promise!

Imaginative but redundant

This was my first Pepper Winters novel. I selected it quite randomly and dove into the audio version immediately without reading the description and therefore without expectations. When a Moth loved a Bee in my opinion, is like Romeo and Juliet meets Beauty and the Beast. The sentences in Winters writing were gripping, powerful, and filled with descriptive language which allowed me to conjure images, and creatures only in the authors imagination! The story however lacked follow through and at chapter 24 I realized the plot had gone nowhere in about 15 chapters. The plot continued to go nowhere new for the rest of the book. Also, I’ll have to read the description closely now to see how this book is classified since it’s in a genre which I’m not that familiar with. It’s XXX rated adult fantasy as far as I’m concerned and if you like this sort of thing and read (or listen) over a short period of time perhaps this book would be more enjoyable for you. For me who listened for days in a row short bits at a time, the characters could be “almost there” for two weeks and several sittings. But again Pepper winters descriptive adjectives and portrayed imagery using every sense are amazing. I’ll perhaps try another of her books but will choose more carefully next time.

awful

had to dig for trigger warnings. don't read if you have triggers for rape, forced marriage to the rapist, and torture.

the plot drags. the magic system makes no sense. the characters feel like racist indigenous caricatures. it's just all bad. save your credits and your time.
