Loved it!

I’ve been waiting until the audiobook came out to read the book and I’m obsessed! Can’t wait to read the next one.

Hot and well written.

If you like steam then get ready to evaporate. Edging every other chapter in the best way.

High quality slow burn enemies to lovers romantasy

Wish more enemies to lovers books followed this example. I could have used a little more groveling on his part but it was very sweet. Characters didn’t make stupid decisions (with the exception of when MMC goes back to his home and expects to just be able to walk away). Communication is an issue that is resolved in enough time to not make it completely frustrating. I wish the epilogue was the last chapter and there was another epilogue that explored what the ancients saw in their vision. Also more detail in what he had to do while she was healing. Overall it kept my attention and didn’t make me want to skip to the end. I could use more spicy scenes but with slow burn sometimes that is hard. Overall it was a high quality fantasy romance and worth the credit IMO.

Beautiful

I knew I was going to love this! Story was very well written. The world building, the spice, and the adventure was excellent. I will say for performance wise the volume difference between the two characters I found the male voice to be sometimes difficult to hear but just turned it up a notch or two and was all good. CANNOT wait for the second book already preordered!!

Funny

I enjoyed the writing and the performances. The book was also surprisingly humorous in the beginning, so I loved that too.

I had already read and loved this story (this book is ABSOLUTELY worth your time), so this is my second go round with it, and WOW. So incredibly well done. Carmen breaths life into Mira- bringing snark and warmth in equal measure. Will is a gift to audiobook listeners everywhere and his take on Arges is mysterious and endearing. Both of them have this *ease* with which the deliver this story that shines even in the spicier bits of the novel. I typically don't go for audiobooks for this reason, the narrators seem to know they're reading a romance novel and put on these fake, breathy voices. That is not the case here- no forced voices or contrived sexiness. It is an honest read of this novel done beautifully and more books (romances especially) should be read this way. I cannot praise them enough.

I would prefer Arges lines to be read with male voice , even if it is Mina's chapter, and Mina's lines with her voice in Arges chapters .

Imaginative

Really great romance! The author really focuses on the relationship between the male and female protagonist, and weaves the world building throughout the story. The story is told from both the male and female perspective. This is truly a romance book that focuses on the developing relationship between the main characters, yet it’s written in a way in which the reader understands the rules, limitations, and problems in the world of these characters. The narrator does a really great job of portraying the emotional turmoil these characters experience throughout the story. This is also a romantic suspense book, so nothing spicy until almost the end of the book, but throughout the story, there is a lot of longing and wishing. Again, the narrator portrays these emotions very well. If you’re looking for a great romantic story in an imaginative world, this is the audiobookbook for you!
