The critically-acclaimed thrill ride is back!

Whispers of the Serpent by C.L. Roberts-Huth

Evolved Publishing presents a suspenseful, thrilling glance inside one woman's extraordinary connection to the elements around her, in the second of the action-packed, paranormal, Zoë Delante Thrillers series.

No rest for the Wiccan.

One year has passed since Zoë Delante's last big case, and everyone's favorite Wiccan has managed to carve a normal-ish life for herself and her boyfriends, Jacob and Daniel. Then she gets the call that someone has discarded dead babies like empty soda cans off I-295 in the Baltimore/D.C. area, leaving strange scales all over the crime scenes. Another serial killer?

Zoë dives into the case when her one-year-old niece comes up missing, and she discovers that the guy running the Church of Holy Light knows magick, and lies about it. Is he the one behind the mind control? Did he send the guys to drop magick all over her sister's house?

And what the hell is up with her magick?

The visions are getting stronger and weirder, and Zoë can't remember the last time she slept. No matter. She has bad guys to catch and innocents to save. She'll sleep when she's dead - or when the killer is.

Be sure to start with the first Zoë Delante thriller, Whispers of the Dead.

Excellent listen

This is a unique character and storyline. Zoe is interesting as she works her way through the problems and challenges she faces. Much about her is only hinted at - there is a great deal yet to be revealed in future books. All the characters are elegant, especially with how they use their magic. And her foes have a particularly special skill that it quite provocative.
There is a great deal of humor which really adds to the experience.
It is an entertaining story with an engaging plot. There is plenty of supernatural action to satisfy most lovers of the genre. The publisher's summary is accurate. The narrator performs well. You believe she is this character and the supporting characters are solid. The production is clean. Easy to listen to. I recommend this audiobook and will be listening to more from this author.

Exciting Series

Book 2 continues this exciting series. Zoe is a great lead. she is strong, sassy & flawed - I can totally relate to her. The narrator is one of of my faves and she does a great job bringing the story to life. I look forward to more in the series & from this author

What a roller coaster!

This is the second book in the series that features Zoe. The story grabbed me from the very beginning and is full of ups and downs, twists and turns. Part of the book I absolutely loved, and parts not so much, kind of like a roller coaster. I thought the narration was spot on. Kelley Hazen delivers so many distinguishable voices for various characters. The storyline is a little outside my preferred genre (I am huge romance fan), but very well done. I received this book as a gift and have voluntarily written my review. I most definitely would listen to more books by this author and narrator. This is a standalone listen and part of a series. This particular book gives more insight into the character of Zoe, and what she sacrifices. Ideally, one would listen to this all at once to absorb the details. Without giving away spoilers, be ready for a wild ride.

An Awesome Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it very interesting. This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed it as much as the first one. Zoe's life has changed dramatically, not all for the better. She learns that the old saying, no good deed goes unpunished, is very true. This unique mystery is well worth the listen.

Great!!!

Don't start this one unless you have an entire afternoon for it! If not, you'll be late for every appointment because it's impossible to put down.

Spellbinding - Riveting - I couldn't put it down

A friend gave me Whispers of the Serpent (Zoë Delante Thrillers) by C.L. Roberts-Huth. It was riveting. I couldn’t put it down and I bet you won’t be able to put it down either, too. I can’t wait to read Zoe’s next adventure Whispers of the Sidhe: A Gripping Supernatural Thriller (Zoë Delante Thrillers Book 3)

Zoe Continued

You have to like listening to demonic/magic/shift changer and other monsters books with thrilling twist and turns .This book’s main character is Zoe Delante who goes to get her 1 yr. old niece Esther back, one that Naga has been kidnapping for evil doings. Enjoyed this book more than the 1st and ending suggest may be a 3rd. Enjoyed one of the new characters of Seth and the good and sad ending. I did enjoy very descriptive scenes in this horrific thriller and the great narration held my interest. I was given this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

A four 1/2 star read/listen

Whispers of the Serpent (Zoë Delante Thrillers, #2), my second read from author C.L. Roberts-Huth and the second book in the Zoë Delante Thriller Trilogy. Enjoyable paranormal-suspense, as good as the first book in the series was, this one is even better. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. Kelley Hazen's enjoyable narration again adds to the book's enjoyment. I look forward to Whispers of the Sidhe: Zoë Delante Thrillers, Book 3, the next book in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

My favorite series

Zoe Delante is a great character. She's smart, she's funny (very dry). She's strong and she doesn't take any crap from anybody. Book 1 was great. This one is even better.

Zoe comes back... for more trouble

The second book in the Zoe Delante series of paranormal thrillers is even more of a roller-coaster ride than the first one. There are new villains - the mythical Naga - kidnapping small kids, and Esther, Zoe's little niece, is one of those kids. So this time it's personal for Zoe...

The storyline is great, fast paced and swiftly flowing. Zoe discovers new aspects of her abilities, acquaires new skills, but also loses a lot (no details here for "no spoilers" policy:)), and some of those losses are heart-breaking. We find out more about Zoe herself and about her relations with her sister and friends, we also meet new, interesting characters...

I like the way Zoe's character is developed in this book, I also like the fact that the more powerful Zoe is the more enstranged she becomes to those around her. The very human fear of the unknown is very well played by the author here.

As for the narration by Ms Kelley Hazen, it's as good as in the first book. The right reading pace, a nice variety of voices for different characters and good acting skills make for a great listening experience. And even though the audiobook is about 9 hours long, you just want to go on and finish it in one sitting (well, I had to take a break as it was the middle of the night - otherwise I would have listened to the whole thing at once, so good it is:)).

So, if you haven't met Zoe Delante yet, don't wait, grab first Whispers of the Dead and then Whispers of the Serpent - you won't be disappointed:)
