Good filler novel, read Demon Accord series first though.
Well it’s hard with a brand new narrator to tell characters apart a lot.especially after listening to ALL the others in a different voice. I feel there were huge amount of missed opportunities to tell *new stories, not just repeat all the same events but from her POV. Something was missing from it,can’t put my finger on it. The characters behaviors are dulled down. The “love story” makes it seem very casual. In conclusion, if you’ve read the Demon Accord series, you kinda should read this book.

Another great addition to a great series
Another great book that deepens the charecters in the Demon Accords! These novels are great for the reader who wants to know more about the charecters that you know from the main story line. This helps enrich the story. Can't wait to register to the entire series with the insight in to the charecters that these novels bring!

Good God learn to pronounce words correctly
The narrator needs to learn how to pronounce the English like an adult. Commonly used words should be pronounced correctly when you are a professional narrator. Just saying. Maybe the editor or director should caught it before it went out. Like using spell checks...

Stacia gets her moment
Similar to Lucky Son of a Gun, another character gets her POV. Interesting but I was distracted by the lack of differentiation in voices: sounded like a series of women, despite several references to Declan's deep voice. Had to backtrack to find out who actually was talking. James Patrick Conan certainly has excelled in the earlier books.

I love this series, but this narrator is BAD!
Let me start by saying I love this series and this story is great.
This is the 2nd book you've had her narrate. In the first chapter, she pronounced Arkady wrong twice and correct once and it doesn't end with Arkady. She pronounces more and more normal words wrong.. she even got Barbiel wrong and who, as an adult, doesn't know how to say charcuterie? Properly pronouncing words is key to a good narration.
I am now convinced she doesn't do her homework on books she's is going to narrate.
To John Conroe:
You need to listen to your fan base. Changing your narrator is ALWAYS bad. People love the world you created and how James Patrick Cronin brought to life with this voice. Do yourself and your fans a favor and re-record with James, we would all appreciate it.
Thank you for your consideration.

The narrator is not very good. She mispronounced many words and names.
Overall the story is just a rehash of what other audiobooks told us about the lead character.

not the best
if you got an extra credit that you can't find something to listen to then this one is for you.
I understand that with new narrators comes new inflections but mispronounced names in a couple spots and terrible accents really dropped the enjoyment
also very little of this book is new stuff most is just a different pov on already written work really missed a good opportunity to flush out more
