a decent read

This was not my favorite book in the series but I was entertained. I dont regret buying it.

New Favorite

This is my new favorite Mercy Thompson book. It feels more like a book in the Alpha & Omega series. Adam and Mercy go someplace to solve a problem, interacting with new and interesting people.

Mercy and Adam’s courage I. Facing their struggles and all encompassing love.

As much as I love Mercy’s storyline I would love more on the supporting characters.

I really enjoyed this story. Mercy and Adam get to spend a lot of time together in this one and I love their interaction.

We like The whole book! No dislikes. Hungry for MORE! Hollywood or someone really needs to make this series into movies!! Stop remaking the remakes over and over. THIS SERIES WOULD MAKE GREAT MOVIES!! OR TV SERIES! Start with MOON CALLED please Hollywood!

Love this series!

4.5 Stars ⭐️

It has been a while since I have been able to jump back into the world of Mercy Thompson (it's been about 2 years) so I was thrilled when I saw it was a New Release. I ended up listening to most of this on audio and to me, Lorelei King has been a consistent narrator for most of the series and I think, she does a fantastic job.

This is a little bit of an unusual storyline as it has Mercy and Adam away from the Pack for most of the book. Mercy's brother Gary has gotten himself into a spot of trouble and Mercy discovers that somehow, the trouble involves some REALLY, really powerful creatures. Coyote may or may not have had a hand in things......

This storyline is interesting, and.....different. There are several new characters introduced with many different paranormal backgrounds. There is also a tight timeline that has to be met or else, well, I'll let you discover the "or else"

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and before I knew it, it was over. *sigh* There is so much excitement and before you know it, it's back to waiting for the next book. But, that is why you can be 20 books into a series and still get butterflies in your stomach when you realize that there is a new book out. Those are the feelings and reactions that some people will never experience nor understand. The wonderful joys of reading.....aren't we the lucky ones?

Another Winner But....

You normally can't go wrong with this series. What I loved about this one was the multiple POVs. I didn't love how she pulled the current political landscape into it. We have so much of it in our everyday lives, does it have to invade our fictional world too? Patricia Briggs... Please please please leave it out of your writing & just let us enjoy your story. That once scene added NOTHING to the story. I'm removing one star because the political writing added nothing and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Other than that, the interludes didn't bother me. I wish she would have either left out the ones with the Darrell & the sniper or added more. That didn't really add any value either. This was a really interesting story and I loved Grandma Spider. I can't wait to see if Zees character remains dark & creepy or if he goes back or normal. I don't think I can wait another year for the next book!

This much-anticipated installment in the Mercy Thompson series was full of action and surprises. Without giving spoilers, it is a fitting and enjoyable read. I love how Mercy thinks of herself as simple and not powerful but many of the most powerful beings in her universe feel the need to protect and help her. As always, well written and well performed. Excellent entertainment. Thank you Patty and Lorelei.
