About this listen

When Jon Acuff's book Soundtracks came out, one reaction surprised him. Parents across the country all said the same thing: "Do you have a version for teenagers? If I knew how to change my mindset when I was that age, my entire life would have been different." Why did they say that? Because truth grows like compound interest. Saving money when you're young has a bigger impact than it does when you save in your 40s. A single new soundtrack—Acuff's phrase for a repetitive thought—believed when you're 14 or 18 can change your whole life in the same way. In response, Acuff tagged his two daughters to help him create an honest, actionable guide to mindset for teenagers.

Your thoughts can work for you or against you, but the good news is you get a choice. The even better news is when you're young, your entire world is made of new. You're a movie that's barely started, a notebook with blank pages to fill, a song that hasn't hit the chorus. You have your whole life ahead of you. When you learn to create new thoughts, those thoughts lead to actions, and those actions lead to new results. Are you ready to tap into the superpower of mindset? Just hit play.

The audiobook includes an exclusive bonus: a behind-the-scenes Q&A with Jon, L.E., and McRae.

Even for An Adult

I throughly enjoyed the book… although my daughter (27 yrs) reminded me she’s not in high school or college. She so is an adult; she’d rather listen to Soundtracks! Which I’ll get her too! Great book!

Polished

Jon’s girls read and spoke as though they’ve done this a million times. Great content. Impressive delivery. Realistic examples. Fantastic concept to have teens write a book for teens. Well done, Acuff’s.

Thank you

Jon, L.E. & McRae,

I bought this book for my daughter and read it before I recommended it to her. She struggles with confidence and after I told her about the $20.00 incentive she was hooked. She got to the part about possibly getting $50 and we talked about why I thought it was so important to read this so I promised her $100.00 and I am so glad I did. We reference our playlist often and love the photo wall idea! I can’t wait to read soundtracks.

My son and I talked about imposter syndrome for over an hour thanks to your 5 day challenge on Facebook.

Your family is inspiring my family and for that… I want to thank you.

I have been recommending your book to so many people. Great job girls and continue to be brave enough to try something new often. The feeling of accomplishment is so rewarding!

LeeAnna

Loved that they read it together and you get to hear the words as they speak them.

Important for all parents to hear from kids what’s really going on.

Well done!!!

Verry relatable and makes you think.

I’m 13 years old and this was my first time listening to a audiobook. I listened to this in one day, at the beginning I thought I couldn’t relate but as the book went on I could relate more and more and by the end it made me really think about things. While I couldn’t relate to everything because of my age it’s honestly pretty hard no to in some way. The stories they tell are very interesting and they do a great job of telling them. Overall it’s a good book I think I will be showing to my friends soon. (Sorry if my review sucked it’s my first time).

A must listen for every teen and parent of a teen.

So much insight to what’s going on in the minds of teens but also how to help them redirect negative thoughts into a more encouraging mindset.

Wish I had it

I agree with the other parents. I wish someone could have told me these things when I was 16 or 18. I plan to share with my last to leave the nest who will be 19 soon. I hope he finds it helpful and yes, I would happily pay him for reading it. lol
