Publisher's summary

Eva Walker is a 17-year-old math genius. And if that doesn't do wonders for her popularity, there's another thing that makes it even worse: When she touches another person or anything that belongs to them - from clothes to textbooks to cell phones - she sees a vision of their emotions. She can read a person's fears and anxieties, their secrets and loves...and what they have yet to learn about calculus. This is helpful for her work as a math tutor, but it means she can never get close to people. Eva avoids touching anyone and everyone. People think it's because she's a clean freak - with the emphasis on freak - but it's all she can do to protect herself from other people's issues. Then one day a new student walks into Eva's life. His jacket gives off so much emotional trauma that she falls to the floor. Eva is instantly drawn to Zenn, a handsome and soulful artist who also has a troubled home life, and her feelings only grow when she realizes that she can touch Zenn's skin without having visions. But when she discovers the history that links them, the truth threatens to tear the two apart.

Zenn Diagram, Wendy Brant's sparkling debut novel, offers an irresistible combination of math and romance, with just a hint of the paranormal. Listeners will swoon over Zenn and connect instantly with Eva, the most fully drawn prodigy in teen fiction today.

Boring

so yeah.. this book wasn't for me at all it was so boring and I didn't see the point of at all .. I would love it if Eva's powers were explored more through out the story but it was just flushed out .. just something to talk about when there is no subject, it was just pointless and the relationship in the story was very insta lovey in a very rushed way .. I don't know I didn't like it at all

The narration was equally boring .. I really wouldn't recommend it

Great YA read!

Loved this book, It was an easy read with great characters. I would love to see what happens to Eva and Zenn as they move to the next chapter of their lives.

Omnipresent religion

Could have been a great story, but thanks to an abundance of church references combined with cursing (why - to prove you can curse and have sex but still appreciate Jesus?) the book felt incredibly forced at times. Most messages the book tried to get across weren’t even something I couldn’t get behind, but I don’t agree with how they were written. Too much, too many, too forced. Shame. Also one of the few times I got so annoyed so often that I felt compelled to write a negative book review afterwards.

Unique High School Romance Hooks You

I discovered Zenn Diagram after googling novels and math. I'm looking for comparables to my own novel,
Alexandra's A-Game, about a nonspeaking, age 14, autistic math whiz. I'm a high school math and special ed teacher and father of a nonspeaking autistic son, age 22. Eva's superpower was an imaginative leap and I could relate to Zenn because my mom was alcoholic. I admit the audio voice was grating at first and the Christian family not my thing, but the magic and intrigue of Eva's psychic ability, the chemistry of Eva and Zenn, and the clever plot twists kept me listening. I'm not a romance genre reader but I got hooked on this romance due to the uniqueness of the character's personalities and their chemistry.
