Наблюдения за жизнью на других планетах породило соблазн, ускорить развитие некоторых цивилизаций. Так Антон под новым именем - Румата оказывается на третьей планете звезды ЕН-2097, культура которой близка земному средневековью...
Никто не мог предположить будет ли готов народ средневековья к принятию миссии спасителя с Земли, а сам Румата даже не догадывался, насколько хрупким окажется его гуманизм. Эволюция и революция, естественное течение истории и грубое вторжение в чужой мир - герой в первую очередь должен сделать нравственный выбор. Выбор делает каждый, кто знакомится с повестью, примеряя тем самым, ношу Бога. Вопроса "кто будет читать "Трудно быть богом?" никогда не возникало. Ведь именно Леонид Ярмольник сыграл главного героя повести - Румату, у кинорежиссёра Алексея Германа в фильме по повести Стругацких.

Fantastic
This book is remarkable in so many ways! Interesting plot, wonderful characters, depth of thought... And then there is this amazing prescience in the character and person of Don Reba. That's just uncanny right there.

Missed the original book’s prologue and epilogue
I was disappointed to find out that there were missing prologue and epilogue from the primal book that make the story complete
