And although acquaintance with a thing is involved in our knowing any one proposition about a thing, knowledge of its 'nature', in the above sense, is not involved.

そして、事物の直接の知覚は、事物についてのある命題を我々が知ることと関連しているとはいえ、その「本性」の知識は、上述の意味においては関連がない。

虽然认识一件事物涉及到我们对于一件事物所认知的任何一个有关它的命题，但并不涉及到有关它的“性质”的知识（在上述的意义上）

Hence, (1) acquaintance with a thing does not logically involve a knowledge of its relations, and (2) a knowledge of some of its relations does not involve a knowledge of all of its relations nor a knowledge of its 'nature' in the above sense.

したがって、（１）ある事物の直接の知覚は、論理的にはその関係性の知識と関連がなく、そして（２）その関係性のなんらかの知識は、その関係性のあらゆる知識とも、上述の意味におけるその「本性」の知識とも関連がない。

因此，（1）认识一件事物，在逻辑上并不包括有关它的各种关系的知识，（2）有关一件事物的某些关系的知识之中并不包括有关它的全部关系的知识，也不包括有关它性质的知识（在上述的意义上）。

I may be acquainted, for example, with my toothache, and this knowledge may be as complete as knowledge by acquaintance ever can be, without knowing all that the dentist (who is not acquainted with it) can tell me about its cause, and without therefore knowing its 'nature' in the above sense.

たとえば、私は自分の歯痛を直接知覚することができ、この知識は、歯痛を知覚していない歯医者がその原因について自分に教えることができるすべてを知らなくても、そしてそれゆえ上述の意味におけるその本質を知らなくても、知覚による知識と同じぐらい完全なものであるかもしれない。

比如说，无需牙科医生（他不直接感觉我的牙痛）告诉我牙痛的原因。因此也无须根据上述的“性质”意义来认知它的性质，我就可以知道我牙痛。而且这种知识是充分完备的认识的知识。

Thus the fact that a thing has relations does not prove that its relations are logically necessary.

したがって、ある事物には関係性があるという事実は、その関係性が論理的に必要であるという証明にはならない。

所以一件事物具有各种关系的这个事实，并不证明它那些关系在逻辑上是必要的。

That is to say, from the mere fact that it is the thing it is we cannot deduce that it must have the various relations which in fact it has.

すなわち、その事物がその事物であるという単なる事実から、我々は、それが実際に有している様々な関係性をそれが有しているはずであるということを推論できない。

那就是说，单从事物就是这个样子的这一事实出发，我们演绎不出它应该具有它在事实上所具有的那些各种不同的关系来。

This only seems to follow because we know it already.

このことは、我々がそれをすでに知っているからそのように思われるだけである。

这似乎是可以理解的，因为我们已经知道了这一点。
