  • Backward Man
    Jul 16 2024

What does our future hold? That question has been asked by humans for a millennium. Ancient cultures, and modern ones, too, have often used dreams, animal sightings and more as symbols that foretell the future. In our story, “Backward Man,” by Caleb Taylor, a young man has seen a strange, horrific individual his whole life. And, whenever he sees it, someone dies.
We'll also look into the lore of omens and common harbingers of death.

  • Two from Blair Daniels
    Jun 18 2024

On this episode we present two short stories by horror writer, Blair Daniels. In our first story, “The Painting My Husband Keeps,” a young wife does not like a painting her husband insists on displaying in their home. As we discover, her dislike of the painting is fueled by more than artistic preference. Our second story, “Thou Shalt Not Steal,” is about a young mother who regrets her decision to steal a fire engine for her son. Although she didn’t pay for the toy, she almost pays with her son’s life.

  • Something Nasty
    May 28 2024

Our story for this episode, “Something Nasty,” by William F. Nolan is about a mean Uncle and his niece’s revenge. That revenge is very much like Voodoo. I have to be honest. Voodoo scares me a little. I guess I’ve seen too many movies in which folks get “Zombie-ized” or have spiders crawl out of their face. So as background to the story, and perhaps to way lay my fears, we"ll also find out more about this fascinating religion.
