  • Episode 29: Chinatown
    Apr 3 2023

Charming, chivalrous Jake Gittes is hired by the charismatic Evelyn Mulwray to look into her husband’s cheating ways. Jake’s cavalier, can-do attitude carries him to a job well done, but there’s more to the complicated case than meets the cerulean eye. He soon discovers a cavernous web of lies in the city of angels, and he must carefully navigate the complex case while dealing with his chummy feelings towards the captivating, yet certifiably cagey Mrs. Mulwray.

Will Jake be able to overcome the calculating and callous elements of the city to avoid a calamitous end? One thing is for certain: the man knows how to get chuffed.

Pretty privilege at play as poor, pallid Herbie Stempel is preposterously passed over by network executives for the pristine Charles Van Doren. Revenge is paramount for proud Herb, and his petty vendetta won't stop until his pain is paid in kind.

Meanwhile, pugnacious Dick is investigating the problematic case, and his passionate persistence will lead him towards the palatial estate of lies with promising, yet panicky Charles at the center of it all.

  • Episode 27: The Great Silence
    Mar 21 2023

There's a famous saying, "A fool is known by his speech and a wise man by silence."

Whatever idiot said that never met the hero of this week's film, Silence. He's constantly asked his name, where he's from, what's he doing in town, yet he just ignores them or points at his scabby neck like that's supposed to mean something. He's the quietest man in town, yet he is constantly outsmarted by the most talkative man in town, Loco, a fellow bounty-killer. Loco is the epitome of, "Nothing strengthens authority so much as Silence." Can Silence prevail over Loco? Can society reckon with the vigilante justice set upon itself? Can the people's mouths move at the same time as we hear their voices?

“Now all my teachers are dead except Silence.” Uhh, about that...

Padraic and Colm are BFF's who live on the small island of Inisherin, and they go to the pub every day at 2:00 PM to hang. One day, Colm decides he doesn't want to be besties with Padraic anymore and proceeds to leave him on unread. Despite Padraic's best, simple efforts, Colm is like, "eww, leave me alone, stalker." Meanwhile, Padraic's friend, Dominic, is horny on main for Padraic's sister, Siobhan, but she rejects his advances since she thinks he's a low value male. Like many modern man, he takes this super well.

  • Episode 25: Wings of Desire
    Mar 6 2023

Trench coat angels are on Earth to record humanity's existence and give them comfort. In fact, we see the angels comforting humans in libraries, at the circus, at the scene of an accident, in bed, in dark alleyways... well, that last one may not have been an angel but still comforting all the same 🤷

Get cozy, and take a listen. It'll be comforting 😉

  • Episode 24: Lolita
    Feb 27 2023

Humbert Humbert is a totally normal, nice guy who has an incredibly special relationship with his stepdaughter, Lolita. Their relationship is so special, in fact, that he decides to upend their lives multiple times to ensure she stays under his thumb...er, tutelage. He's concerned that she will fall in with the wrong crowd, and he just wants her to be safe and happy with him. FOREVER.

...I've never wished the "FBI, open up!" meme on anyone until now.

  • Episode 23: Jerry Maguire
    Feb 20 2023

You had me at an inability to be intimate with others. You had me at a crippling need to never be alone. You had me at my desire to find a man that I feel like is out of my league. You had me at my loyalty. You had me at the pootie. You had at me hello.

Wow, there's a theme of possessiveness underlying this film. Typical Scientologist...
