• Ep. 30 From Darkness to Sight with Dr. Ming Wang -PART 1

    Dr. Ming Wang, a world-renowned eye surgeon, laser scientist, inventor, author, musician, and ballroom dancer joins The Dancing Housewife to discuss the discrepancies between the film adaptation of his autobiography and the book. He explains that the film merged two characters from his book into one character to protect the families involved. Dr. Wang also reflects on the symbolism and artistic rendition of his traumatic flashbacks depicted in the film and the impact of the Cultural Revolution on his life. He shares how music and dance played a significant role in his survival during that time and how they continue to be a celebration of freedom and faith. Additionally, he talks about his collaboration with Dolly Parton on her album, where he played the Chinese violin (Erhu) on a song called 'The Cruel War.'
