Imagine driving cross-country with no map and relying solely on directions from other people online to get to your destination? Would you still take the trip?

While the thought of taking a long-distance trip with no map or GPS sounds crazy, so many people take this approach when starting a coaching or consulting business.

Not taking the time to create a business plan is probably one of the most costly mistakes an entrepreneur can make.

Regardless of whether you are starting an online or a brick-and-mortar business, you need a business plan.

You can easily waste money and precious time targeting the wrong audience, launching failed marketing campaigns, underestimating the cost of starting and operating business, and simply spinning your wheels if you don't have a business plan.

Your business plan doesn't have to be a novel. My first business plan was a one-page document.

Sure, anyone can start a business and sort of learn as they go. However, you may want to Google the business failure rate for coaching and consulting businesses and determine if you still think that's a good idea.

Why not increase the likelihood of you succeeding as an entrepreneur by simply writing a business plan?

What prompted you to think about entrepreneurship or starting a business in general?
