  • 097: Tips to Overcome People Pleasing
    Jul 1 2024

You know, I’ve been in this weird phase of overthinking and overanalyzing everything. It started about five years ago when my dad almost died from AML, and more recently, knowing several people my age who've passed away from illnesses or cancer. It’s made me rethink a lot about life and how I’ve spent so much of it trying to please others.

Growing up, I always tried to please everyone around me. This has been especially challenging over the last decade, but I’ve put so much effort into overcoming it. Even though I like to call myself a recovering people pleaser, those tendencies still creep up sometimes.

People-pleasing is wired into us, partly due to societal norms. For girls, it's about being polite and looking your best. For guys, it's about being tough and not showing sensitivity. These ingrained beliefs shape our behavior and our need to be accepted and liked by others.

The thing is, people-pleasing isn't just about wanting everyone to like you. It’s about feeling the need to act a certain way to feel safe. And that’s exhausting. So, today, I want to share some tips to help you overcome this. Here are six tips to work through people-pleasing:

    • Get a therapist or counselor to talk to. 🧠 Smart people have a therapist, and it’s a great starting point.
    • Become aware of when you're prioritizing others' needs over your own. 🧘‍♂️ Just recognizing this behavior is a huge step forward.
    • Practice saying “no” without guilt. 🚫 This was a hard one for me, but it’s crucial to set boundaries and not feel bad about it.
    • Do something that fills your cup and makes you happy. 🌟 Whether it’s a hobby or self-care, reinforcing your own needs is important.
    • Practice speaking up with confidence. 📢 It might be uncomfortable at first, but the more you do it, the easier it gets.
    • Challenge any negative thoughts or beliefs. 🌈 You can download my free workbook, Think This, Not That, at kathireuter.com/thinkthisnotthat to help rewire your brain and replace negative thoughts with positive ones.

  • 096: 4 Powerful Ways to Break Free from Stress and Be More Present
    Jun 17 2024

💡 I’m diving into something really important: how to be more present in our lives.

You know, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, stressing about bills, deadlines, and all those things that pull us away from enjoying the present moment.

But why do we let that happen?

Why do we let stress and worry steal our joy?

Imagine fast-forwarding 30 years from now. You’ve achieved every goal, every dream. But what would you trade to be back here, right now, enjoying this moment fully? That’s the essence of today’s Do Life Big Podcast episode.

I’ve identified four powerful ways to help you break free from distractions and overwhelm, and truly be present:

    • Sensory Awareness Exercise 🌳👂: Take a moment to sit outside or in a quiet place. Engage each of your senses for just 30 seconds: What do you see? Hear? Feel? Smell? Taste? It’s a simple but effective way to ground yourself in the present.

    • Breath Work 🌬️: Practice deep breathing throughout your day. Whether it’s in the shower, during a walk, or just before bed, focusing on your breath helps calm your mind and brings you back to the here and now.

    • Journaling 📝: Grab a journal and ask yourself, “What’s getting in the way of me being present?” Write down your thoughts. It’s amazing how clarifying your thoughts on paper can help you prioritize what truly matters.

    • Digital Detox 📵🌿: Disconnect from technology, even if just for a few minutes each day. Step outside, observe nature, and let your mind rest from constant stimulation. It’s refreshing and helps you appreciate the simple things.

By making these practices part of your daily routine, you’ll feel more grounded, more present, and ultimately happier. Remember, life is happening right now, in this moment. Let’s make the most of it.

  • 095: How to See Things as They Really Are
    Jun 10 2024

In this short and sweet Do Life Big Podcast episode, we’re diving into how we can start to think more clearly and get to the truth of what's really happening, rather than living in a distorted reality full of made-up stories that keep us trapped and feeling like victims. 🚫🧠

Have you ever found yourself interpreting something someone said in a way that made you feel awful, only to later realize that wasn’t what they meant at all? 🤔 I definitely have!

Let me tell you a story from when I was a new teacher.

I remember teaching a lesson and getting observed by my principal. Afterward, he gave me constructive criticism, but in my mind, I twisted it into thinking he believed I was a terrible teacher. That wasn’t the truth at all—it was just a story I made up. 😬📚

We do this all the time. We create these narratives that aren’t based on facts, and they keep us from living our truth and finding freedom. It’s like being inside a jar and not being able to read the label. 🏷️

We need to pull ourselves out, look objectively, and ask, "What’s really happening here?" 🌟

Here are some key points we discussed:

    1. Distorted Reality: We often interpret events and comments in a way that isn’t true, creating false narratives in our minds. 🌀
    2. Objective Perspective: It's crucial to step back and look at situations objectively, asking ourselves what the real facts are. 🔍
    3. Ego Interference: Our ego can cloud our judgment, making us feel inadequate or misunderstood. Learning to quiet our ego helps us see the truth. 🤐
    4. Freedom in Truth: By seeking the truth and questioning our thoughts, we can free ourselves from unnecessary suffering and live more authentically. 🕊️

Next time you feel triggered or upset, ask yourself: Is it what someone actually said, or how I interpreted it? What are the facts? This practice of questioning our thoughts and looking for the truth takes effort, but it’s so worth it. The truth really does set us free. 💡

Remember, no one’s perfect, but we’re all here to improve and be the best versions of ourselves. And hey, if you haven’t grabbed my free Think This, Not That workbook, head over to kathireuter.com/thinkthisnotthat. It’s packed with ways to rewire your mind for success. 📘✨

  • 094: There's No Such Thing as "The Right Time"
    Jun 3 2024

Welcome back to another episode of Do Life Big! I am beyond excited to have you here today. This episode is all about the myth of waiting for the "right time." I can’t wait to dive into this because it's been a recurring theme in my life lately, and I know many of you can relate.

We often convince ourselves that it’s just not the right time to make a big move—whether it’s starting a business, making a career pivot, or pursuing a passion. We come up with endless reasons to wait.

But let’s be real: this is just a way to procrastinate. Our brains are wired to keep us safe, which often means avoiding risk and the potential for failure.

Think about it. How many times have you talked yourself out of something because you were afraid of what might happen if it didn’t work out? Fear of failure, fear of judgment from others—these are powerful deterrents.

But here’s the thing: you don’t want to look back on your life with regrets, wondering what could have been.

I’ve known three people my age who have passed away in the last couple of years. It’s a stark reminder that life is unpredictable and short. This makes it even more crucial to seize the moment.

You have to challenge that inner voice that’s holding you back. Instead of feeding yourself excuses about why now isn't the right time, why not tell yourself why now is the best time? Every moment, our minds are creating stories. Let’s create ones that propel us forward.

Sure, it’s scary to leave a secure job or start something new, but remember, everyone starts from the beginning. Those successful people you admire? They felt the fear too—they just did it anyway. They trusted the process and believed things would work out.

So, my challenge to you is to start telling yourself a new story. One that says, “Now is the right time.”

Take that first step, even if it’s small. Trust that you can figure it out as you go. Don’t wait for the perfect moment—it doesn’t exist.

If this resonates with you, check out my free workbook, Think This, Not That. It’s packed with tools to help you rewire your mind for success. Go to kathireuter.com/thinkthisnotthat to grab your copy.

  • 093: Ditching Perfectionism: The Road to Six-Figure Success
    May 27 2024

I hope you’re having an awesome day! 🌟

Today’s Do Life Big Podcast episode is especially for my fellow online entrepreneurs who are stuck in the perfectionism-procrastination trap and feeling stuck at an income plateau. Sound familiar? 🤔

I get it. I've been there!!!

Back when I started my first business in network marketing, I had no idea what I was doing. Zero social media presence, no clue about online business – nothing! I just needed to make a few hundred bucks a week to stay home with my kids... 👶👶

Looking back, it’s painful to see how unpolished my early posts and videos were. 😬

But guess what? That’s exactly what helped me grow. I had no time to perfect anything. I just had to get stuff done.

In this episode, I share my journey from feeling like a complete newbie to building a multiple-six-figure business. I talk about how my need for this business to succeed overrode my fear of imperfection.

The more I put myself out there, the more confidence I built – not the other way around. Confidence comes from action, from all the rejections, the failures, and the learning opportunities.

🔄 I’ll dive into the vicious cycle of perfectionism and procrastination.

Do you rewrite posts multiple times and still never hit publish? ✍️❌

Or constantly jump from one idea to the next without fully executing any?

You’re not alone. This pattern keeps so many entrepreneurs stuck below the six-figure mark. 🚫💰

Breaking this cycle requires retraining your brain. 🧠

It’s more than just reading self-help books or listening to motivational podcasts. It’s about addressing the root cause of your income plateau and rewiring your mindset for success. I’ve seen this work not just for me, but for hundreds of women I’ve coached. ✨

To help you further, I’m hosting a FREE Live Training on May 30th at 11 am EST. 🗓️

I’ll share my five-step reframe framework to rewire your brain for success and breakthrough that six-figure barrier. You can register at http://kathireutertraining.com/joinunleash – it’s completely free! 🎉

Join me in this training to learn how to avoid burnout, grow your business without sacrificing time with loved ones, and finally achieve the income you deserve. I can’t wait to see you there!!! 🚀💖

  • 091: Unlocking Your Happiness Potential
    May 13 2024

In today's Do Life Big Podcast episode, we’re diving into something I know we all want more of – happiness! 😊

Yep, this episode is all about unlocking your happiness potential. Who doesn’t want to be happier, right? I’m sure you’re here because you want more happiness, gratitude, and peace in your life. But how do we actually get there?

So, let me take you back to my college days. I studied positive psychology and absolutely loved learning about how our brains work when it comes to happiness. There’s a ton of research out there on this, and I’m super excited to share some of it with you.

💡 First off, did you know that happiness is totally subjective?

What makes me happy might not be the same for you, and that’s okay. But there are some universal truths we can all use to boost our happiness. Here’s what I want you to know:

    1. Practice Daily Gratitude: This one’s a game-changer. Keep a gratitude journal by your bed and jot down three things you’re grateful for every morning. It can be something big or small, like a beautiful sunset or a kind gesture from a friend. This simple habit can rewire your brain to focus on the good stuff.

    2. Cultivate Positive Relationships: Surround yourself with people who lift you up. It’s not about having a ton of friends, but having a few deep, meaningful connections. These relationships can seriously boost your happiness and even help you live longer!

    3. Choose Happiness: This might sound cliché, but it’s true – you have to choose to be happy. Happiness isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment; it’s about finding joy in the now. Make a deliberate effort to find the silver lining in every situation.

    4. Focus on Your Internal State: Remember, happiness comes from within. It’s not about external factors like money or status. You can be happy right now, regardless of what’s happening around you.

And get this – there’s actual science behind this!

Studies show that when you’re happy, your brain lights up in areas like the prefrontal cortex and amygdala, which helps you make better decisions and feel less fear and anxiety. How cool is that?

Now, let’s talk about the power of gratitude again because it’s just that important.

Gratitude can literally change your life. When you start your day focusing on what you’re thankful for, you set a positive tone for everything else. It’s like a ripple effect of goodness.

So, ask yourself, is it important for you to be happier in this life?

If you’re nodding your head right now, then start with these simple tips. And don’t forget, I’ve got a free “Think This Not That” workbook that can help you replace negative thoughts with positive ones. You can grab it at kathireuter.com/thinkthisnotthat.

  • 090: Two Tips for Overcoming Comfort Zone Challenges
    May 6 2024

Today's Do Life Big Podcast episode is packed with insights to help you break free from your comfort zone and take those crucial risks to pursue your dreams. 🚀

If you've ever found yourself stuck in analysis paralysis, unable to take action towards your goals, this one's for you!

Before we dive in, don't forget to check out my FREE 60-second quiz at kathireuter.com/quiz. It's designed to reveal your entrepreneurial persona type and guide you toward your next breakthrough in business. Trust me, it's worth it! 🎉

    Alright, let's get into it.

Picture this: you know exactly what you need to do to create the life you want, but you're not fully committing.

    Sound familiar?

We often find ourselves at a crossroads, torn between staying in our comfort zone or making the bold decision to change our lives for the better. 🛤️

Here's the deal: every decision we make boils down to opportunity versus obligation. Our brains are wired to keep us safe and comfortable, but that can hold us back from achieving our full potential. It's a constant battle between the desire for growth and the fear of discomfort. 💪

So, how do we overcome this hurdle? The two tips for overcoming comfort zone challenges are:

    1. Shift your focus from obligation to opportunity: Instead of dwelling on the negatives, envision the positive outcomes awaiting you on the other side of your comfort zone. Whether it's building a successful business or prioritizing your health, keep your eye on the prize and embrace the discomfort as a necessary step toward your goals. 🌟

    2. Remember your why: When things get tough, always go back to why you started in the first place. Your initial motivation will fuel your journey and keep you going when the going gets tough. 🔥

Remember, the path of least resistance isn't the path to greatness. You have to be willing to put in the work and make the tough decisions to create the life you truly desire. And when things get tough, always go back to why you started in the first place. Your initial motivation will fuel your journey and keep you going when the going gets tough. 🔥

So it's time to make a choice. Will you stay stagnant or will you embrace growth? The decision is yours, and I have faith that you'll choose wisely. You've got this! 💫
