  • Summary

  • In this episode, I welcome Eve Linieres, a volonteer, a Trustee at Refugee Support Europe and a hypnotherapist.

Born and raised in a tiny village in Surrey and the eldest of three girls, Eve has always been a people person.

Between 1984 and 1988, she studied Computational Linguistics and Modern Languages at the Institute of Science and Technology in Manchester.

She left with a third which didn't prevent her from fulfilling a very successful career in recruitment. Moral of the story: marks aren't everything.

Eve's first recruitment business was Ashley Coutts which she grew for 10 years and then, Amevco, which she co-founded with her little sister Amy.

After another decade spent in the industry, Eve decided to take a much deserved break.

But not for long. At the height of the Syrian crisis, Eve volunteered to help in refugee camps in Greece and Cyprus, and closer to home, in Calais.

Eve is a dear friend, a force of nature, winning everyone over with her enthusiasm and joie de vivre.

We talked about her experience as a volunteer in various capacities, the incredible work achieved by the organisation Refugee Support Europe, their fundraising event Dignify, hypnotherapy and the enduring human spirit.
