Join me as I pick Wade Blevin's brain about the Sam's One Bug, his faith, and his other outdoor hobby you'll probably never guess.

Wade's father, Sam, came up with the One Bug in the mid-80's and since then has become an extremely popular fly to tie and use. I learned about the fly, which in turn led me to link up with Wade, through the Redeye Bartram's Bass Workshop I attended in 2023 (you can hear my review of the workshop in episode 2).

Since inheriting the fly and heritage of giving away the Sam's One Bugs, Wade has given away over fifteen thousand of these flies. Wade has put his own touch to the tradition by including the story of the Perfect Gift with each gifting of flies meaning he has shared the gospel with hundreds, if not thousands, of people.

In the conversation I ask Wade about any tips or special tools which are out there to help folks interested in tying the Sam's One Bug.
