• Interviews : San Diego Dave
    Oct 31 2022

Dave is a geophysicist with a PhD. He also a personal friend who struggled with Long Covid beginning in the first wave. We interview him about his recent turn around and what got him there. As someone who can look at data objectively, he had a skeptical mind going into this protocol but his desperation drove him to take desperate measures.

In this podcast he describes his protocol, a hybridized cleanse and starvation diet that flipped a switch and took him from the chair to the hiking trail. But it was not without its dangers and struggles. After emptying his bowels, he went on a strict keto, and almost starvation diet, hardly the best choice for someone with hypoglycemia who already has significant health problems with Long Covid.

    But, it worked.

    Jun 13 2022

This is a "Your Stories" series episode with two individuals sharing their experiences with this month's topic, medical gaslighting. The first is Collin, a man in his early 30’s who was active and athletic before his infection and is now a shadow of his former self. He lost his mother to the virus and has spent nearly a quarter million dollars just trying to recover from the damage.
The second guest is Kathy,  a woman who literally had to move from her home do to the noise and over stimulation of the city because of neurologic symptoms. She understands first hand how women are often gaslit and dismissed as having anxiety when dealing with real physical health issues.
Both are briefly interviewed by Dave, another Longhauler who asked each person a set of the same questions to help illustrate their experiences and highlight the impact it has had.

Questions in the interview are :

Can you share an example of medical gaslighting you have experienced?
How has it changed your perspective on healthcare and medicine?
Has there been anything positive to come out of your experiences?
What would be your advice to anyone going through something similar?
What thoughts would you like to share with the medical community that you think they need to hear?
