Clayton Kershaw made his 2024 debut and overall it went pretty well. Kershaw went just four innings but he struck out six, allowed two runs and got a lot of swing-and-miss. Offensively it was the bottom of the order that did the work for the Dodgers, capped off by Nick Ahmed's go-ahead home run in the 8th inning. The bullpen was once again used heavily, a trend that has been going on since the All-Star break ended. What will the Dodgers do this weekend with so many arms being used recently?

Clayton Kershaw started for the first time this season. He seemed to have pretty good command of his off-speed stuff. He would give up 4 consecutive hits in the 3rd but then struck out the side. His day would come to an end after 4 innings, 6 strikeouts and 72 pitches. The Dodgers had the bats working 14 hits in all 7 from the bottom 3 in the line-up Kike Hernandez had 3 and 2 each from Austin Barnes and Nick Ahmed who hit the go ahead home run in the 8th, his first as a Dodger. Shoehei Ohtani also went deep in the 8th his 31st , and Gavin Lux stayed hot going 2-3 with 2 runs scored as the Dodgers win the series 3-1 with the 6-4 win.

The Dodgers lost to the Giants on a night in which they got their first run in the 1st inning but their first hit in the 7th inning. The injuries and lack of length from the starting pitching finally caught up to the Dodgers as they fielded a lineup of inconsistency and stuck with Yohan Ramirez in a spot where they wouldn't have with a fully rested bullpen. Miguel Rojas was placed on the IL before the game, Chris Taylor was placed on the IL after the game, and Nick Ahmed was inserted from the street into the starting lineup. Can the Dodgers withstand all the injuries? Also, Kyle Hurt will get Tommy John surgery to add on to the tough year for young Dodgers pitchers and injuries. Lastly, Clayton Kershaw takes the mound for the first time in 2024. What can we expect?
