Miami’s Norchad Omier entered the transfer portal on Thursday. With North Carolina in the mix for other centers like Jonas Aidoo and Cliff Omoruyi, but having not landed one, it would make sense for the Tar Heels to at least make a phone call. Is there a possibility that Creighton’s Ryan Kalkbrenner might also enter the portal? If so, the Tar Heels should get right to work.

At power forward, Hubert Davis, along with Sean May, Brad Frederick, and Jeff Lebo were in Lexington on Thursday to meet with Adou Theiro. Will the Tar Heels be able to land him over Pitt? For small forward, Carolina is hopeful to land Cade Tyson, but Andrej Stojakovic and Koby Brea are also in the mix.

Reports from reputable sources CBS and Field of 68 confirm that RJ Davis will return for a fifth year at North Carolina. While it’s not enough yet to proclaim it from the mountaintops, it is enough to discuss what n RJ Davis return means and looks like for UNC. Seth Trimble is also back for UNC and the Tar Heels will have to figure out how to best deploy him. What is Trimble’s sweet spot? On Tuesday afternoon, rising junior Seth Trimble announced that he was withdrawing from the transfer portal and coming back to North Carolina. This is welcome news for Hubert Davis and company, who will get back their top individual defender. Also on Tuesday afternoon Matt Norlander of CBS sports spoke of rumors of RJ Davis returning to North Carolina to utilize his COVID eligibility and play a 5th year for the Tar Heels. It would be the 3rd straight season UNC has had a player stick around for a 5th year. North Carolina will still be in search of a center, power forward, and small forward to fill out the roster.

The North Carolina football team had their spring football game on Saturday as they look to replace Drake Maye under center. All eyes are on the competition between Conner Harrell and transfer Max Johnson. Neither separated enough to distinguish himself as QB1 for the fall. The competition will carry on.

On Saturday, North Carolina junior Harrison Ingram announced his intent to enter the 2024 NBA Draft. However, on Monday, Jon Rothstein tweeted out that Ingram was indeed maintaining his college eligibility despite never hinting at that initially. The move would certainly be good for roster continuity. However, a prolonged absence from Ingram would certainly put the Tar Heels in a bind.

Koby Brea included the Tar Heels in his final five, along with Duke, UConn, Kentucky, and Kansas.

Cliff Omoruyi has scheduled a visit to Kansas State and will visit Alabama this weekend.

With elite options seemingly dwindling in the transfer portal, North Carolina supporters are getting antsy waiting on the decisions of players such as Center targets Cliff Omoruyi (Rutgers) and Jonas Aidoo (Tennessee).
