• Nathan Brown - Street Artist and Large Murals
    May 2 2024

Originally from Los Angeles, Nathan relocated to Nashville when he was 11 years old and endured a major culture shock. Embracing the transition between cities through painting graffiti and exploring new territories through skateboarding travels, motivated Nathan artistically.

In the late 90’s he drew inspiration from these passions, using color and form to play with perspective. Positioned at the intersection of abstractionism and street art, Nathan has transitioned this style into the studio and on multi story buildings across the U.S. and Europe.

Prior to mural work, Nathan had an extensive career in experiential marketing, promoting and producing concerts / festivals and events for

Live Nation, Golden Voice (Coachella), AEG Presents and Disney, in which he marketed & promoted over 5000 shows over the course of 15 years.

Nathan has created over 150 large scale commissioned murals for both communities around the country and also for brands such as Red Bull, Wrangler, Patagonia, Top Golf, WeWork, Google, Spotify, to name a few, the goal has always been the same since day one, to bring people, places and communities together through public art, transforming and creating new spaces where there were none before.

Nathan primarily paints large scale public art on the streets, as well as indoor private commissions and is currently based in Chattanooga, TN.

  • How Would You Handle It ? Radio Host Christie Mathews Explains
    Apr 24 2024

    #podcast #cancer #treatment
Christie Matthews, an award-winner disc jockey at the Jonesboro Radio Group and a Make-A-Wish ambassador, was at her daughter’s wedding when she turned to speak to a guest, and her hip popped out of the socket.

That’s when she realized something wasn’t right. After months of trying to figure out what was wrong, she got a call from her doctor. She had a tumor on her hip. It was multiple myeloma.

She was diagnosed on New Year’s Eve of 2020 and started treatment in 2021. Even after getting answers to the cause of her pain, she was still shocked.

“I just thought I’d had a bad hip and needed hip replacement,” Matthews said. “I look back, and I can’t really remember a lot of it because I was just on autopilot. It’s devastating.”

Nick Tingquist, a thoracic surgeon at UAMS, said one of the best forms of prevention is early detection. That can start with regular visits to a primary care physician. He said they’re trained to find and prevent diseases early on.

Tingquist said there are also some suggested tests and procedures for certain patients.

“Getting a yearly colonoscopy at age 45, or if you have a history of smoking, some people are eligible to be screened,” Tingquist said.

As for some of the early signs of cancer, it will vary depending on the type and the person. The symptoms may be difficult for patients to understand.

“It may be something you get used to over a period of time. I think it’s important to recognize what’s abnormal,” Tingquist added.

Some of those abnormal symptoms could be unexpected weight loss, pains in certain parts of the body, changes in stool, and discoloration of the skin.

Matthews’ advice to everyone is to be your own advocate. If you think something is wrong, don’t dismiss it.

MY RADIO HISTORY: I started my radio career in 1989 working for the station I grew up listening to. My friends and I would slather on the suntan oil and iodine, work on our tan and listen to our favorite songs on KISR 93.7 in Fort Smith. I never dreamed at that time that radio would be where I would spend my career. I wanted to work in TV, but radio captured my heart. In the fall of 1990, I moved to Jonesboro to attend Arkansas State and started my full-time career in radio at KZ100. I hit a few frequencies over the years, but found my home at Jonesboro Radio Group in 1997.

FAVORITE MUSIC: Asking me to list my favorite artists is like asking me to tell you why I love Christmas. I love the classics Haggard and Jones. I still get a funny feeling in my heart when I hear a song from Garth’s “No Fences” album. I’m a super fan of today’s country too, there are just so many talented singer songwriters today; Jordan Davis, Luke Combs, Hardy, Lainey Wilson, and Kelsea Ballerini just to name a few.

Luxe Life Discovered podcast idea originated from meeting so many diverse, talented individuals along the Emerald Gulf Coast in Florida. There is a tremendous range of talent from artist, recording artists, entrepreneurs, as well as many desirable destinations and resorts. “Luxe Life Discovered” recently started remote interviews with others that Steiner Event Group has connected with nationally and internationally. We look forward to see what is ahead as we showcase talented and creative individuals, and showcase their journey.

  • What is Pura ? Gabby Wahlin Brand PR Explains
    Apr 10 2024

Fragrance can change the energy and atmosphere of your space, transport you to new places, enhance moods, and take you back to special memories

Like many origin stories, the Pura https://pura.com/pages/about-us story starts simply—with 14-year-old co-founder Richie Stapler's cologne collection. From a young age, Richie had a unique appreciation for the power of scent and a determination to understand it. Meanwhile, co-founder Bruno Lima was growing up in Brazil, daydreaming about—amongst other things—plastics, manufacturing, and supply chain. Ties to Brazil brought the two together.

Both were passionate about creating something incredible. With a love of fragrance and a desire for life-changing ideas, they started Pura with maxed-out credit cards and overflowing determination.

But it wasn’t easy. Trying to launch their new company, they faced rejection after rejection. What kept them going? An alarm that dinged after every sale—hearing this just once or twice a day was cause for celebration. Today, four years later, a Pura fragrance is sold every 3.7 seconds.

Gabby Wahlin is based out of Sandy, Utah, United States and works at Pura Scents as PR & Brand Manager

At Pura, we feel extremely lucky to work with so many amazing brands and individuals. (Just to give you an idea, companies like Capri Blue, Anthropologie, and Disney are among our incredible—and growing—roster of partners.) And by collaborating with top perfumers and luxury fragrance brands from around the world, we are not only disrupting the industry, but we are creating something entirely new and unique in the process, something we could never dream of achieving without such a talented and passionate global team.

  • Incredible Young Business Owners - Baron Fork Clothing and Carter Flowers
    Mar 13 2024

Courage is defined as the ability to confront and overcome difficult situations. It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as Ava Pinkerton, the proprietor of Baron Fork Clothing Co. As a senior in High School, I have embarked on the journey of opening my own boutique. Unlike my siblings who were actively involved in sports or rodeo, I developed a passion for fashion and clothing. It is with great pride that I have realized my dream of establishing my own store.

The name of my store, Baron Fork Clothing Co., is derived from my personal background. I was born and raised on the Baron Fork river, and my family and I spent countless hours enjoying the river's beauty. The memories I have of those times are precious to me, and I wanted to honor them by naming my store after the river that holds such a special place in my heart.

I am thrilled to offer you a wide range of clothing pieces and outfits that are sure to impress. This journey has been a remarkable experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share it with you. I eagerly anticipate the opening day and look forward to welcoming you to my store!!!
