Men Talking Frankly

By: Men Talking Frankly with Di Gillett & Traci Whitaker
  • Summary

  • Men Talking Frankly is a light-hearted & frank conversation with men about men uncovering all things unspoken from the mouths of males. That said, it is the girls asking the questions, so a somewhat more nuanced approach, as distinct to boy’s talk. As we all know, women talk freely about their feelings whilst secret men’s business is often unspoken. Hosts Traci Whitaker and Di Gillett ask the sometimes-uncomfortable questions about men’s views on dating & relationships. In Season 1, Traci co-hosts with renown broadcaster, George Donikian, who will drop in from time to time. At times humorous & on occasion downright embarrassing, the guests will share their thoughts on anything from romance, insecurities, personal challenges and dating disasters. If you want a glimpse into the inner thoughts of men, listen in & subscribe to Men Talking Frankly.

  • 17. RESERVATIONS ABOUT DATING
    Nov 23 2022

Season 1: Episode 17. Reservations About Dating

Traci Whitaker asks the questions along with co-host, George Donikian.

So, Gary, are there reservations when you go on a first date? Apparently, a few.

On this episode of Men Talking Frankly, Traci & George talk with Gary who joins them to discuss what he’s wary about when it comes to dating. What do we look out for? Everyone suffers from nerves on a first date, but let’s be authentic.

Then they explore some of the new vernacular – well new to some of us more seasoned punters:

Ghosting – is that really new, or is it social media’s attempt to rebrand what we use to say, …” They’re just not into you!” Hear what Gary has to say about this.

Then on a more serious note, even though we tend to focus our discussions at the more light-hearted end of the spectrum, on occasion we veer into more serious territory, such as …. ‘Angel Shots’ and what’s it all about.

Join Traci & George for our final episode for Season 1. A light-hearted & some not-so-light-hearted conversation with Gary, about first dates and what to be mindful of.

  • 16. WHAT CONCERNS YOU ABOUT ONLINE DATING
    Nov 16 2022

Season 1: Episode 16. What Concerns You About Online Dating?

Traci Whitaker asks the questions along with co-host, George Donikian.

Good, bad, safe, a sea of bad photos - where do we start.

Whilst we have only dedicated one episode to online dating thus far, I am sure we will revisit this again down track.

However, on this episode Traci & George chat with their guest Gary, about his experiences with online dating and what more would we like to know about someone, other than just a photo which likely leads to random Likes and Dislikes?

Gary finds some of the brief and on occasion, blunt comments devoid of effort, such as: “Don’t just ask me what my weekend was like. It was good thanks.” Or, “What’s your favourite movie?” … very ho-hum. So, stop with the cliches – of course we all like good food and sex!

Can you assess values or personality, when do you actually get face-to-face, how much time do you waste?

So, if you choose not to go online, where do you meet a potential partner. In the meantime, stop scrolling through those endless images and join Traci & George as they have a lighthearted conversation about online dating – warts and all.

  • 15. MEN'S CONFIDENCE POST DIVORCE
    Nov 9 2022

Season 1: Episode 15. Men’s Confidence Post Divorce

Traci Whitaker asks the questions along with co-host, George Donikian.

Dr Anthony joins us again on Men Talking Frankly to discuss how he coped after divorce.

Divorce and the separation that follows are always stressful. What is important though, is what we learn. Does it get easier as you get older? Do we develop coping mechanisms post-relationship, or as the doctor suggested, immerse ourselves in our work …..which may be a distraction rather than a coping mechanism.

We ask, what do you wish you had been told about the opposite sex when you were younger. With the benefit of hindsight, Anthony tells us not to look for perfection.

Join Traci & George, along with Anthony for another candid discussion.
