Mike Meets London Tastemakers

By: @mikeeatslondon
  • Summary

  • London has one of the best and most bustling food scenes in the world. I've been lucky enough to tuck into the smorgasbord of what it has to offer and meet some incredible, talented and ambitious people along the way. In this podcast I'll be chatting with some of the best and brightest in hospitality about their businesses, how they got started, where they're going and the London food & drink scene in general. And have a laugh along the way!

Interested in what it takes to run a group of restaurants? Or what you need to start your own food truck? Or how to adapt your idea in the face of an unexpected event like a global pandemic? Hopefully we can answer all those things and more, or even just give you a bit more insight into your favourite spots and the people behind them.

  • Leonardo Ongaro - Badiani Gelato
    Dec 2 2021

In this episode I chat to Leonardo from Badiani, who has the enviable job of thinking about the future of their gelato! We chat about Badiani's long and storied history and the origin of their Buontalenti flavour, as well as more recent developments such as their nationwide delivery service, store expansions and upcoming subscription model. If you've not already tried their gelato (I particularly recommend La Dolce Vita and Buontalenti Pistachio) you'd be mad not to seek it out!

Leo gives shout outs to Mercato Metropolitano (now in multiple locations) as well as MBARE in Clapham.
