It was at this point that he co-founded Futurephonic with his friend Sam Morgan, starting with music production masterclasses featuring Psytrance icons, evolving into a platform offering sample packs, synth presets, and now, the groundbreaking MIDI software, Rhythmizer Ultra.

Alex also handles all visual graphics and video production for Futurephonic, designing in both 2D and 3D, from software GUIs to the adverts and demos.

  • Monchi's Podcast: 003 Wode
    May 24 2024

Wode is the project of Aussie Psytrance producer Ryan Woodlock.
He started the journey in Melbourne during the pandemic lockdowns due to sheer curiosity of psychedelic sound design and production, eventually falling in love with the chaotic energy of night time soundscapes.

Having earlier in life played drums in metal and punk bands for most of his teens, Ryan was then introduced to aussie bush doofs and found the atmosphere and energy of those parties to be his new love. He eventually discovered artist such as Ajja, Scorb and Jumpstreet which he found very similar to heavy music genres but was also refreshing and unique to his ears.

Studying and exploring both spectrums of the psychedelic genres Ryan wanted to meet somewhere in the middle to accommodate for both worlds, designing his tunes to bounce around with repetitive off beat patterns and quick intricate breaks, but also allowing the music to evolve with contortive melodies and atmospheres.

Ryan was signed to Euro label Squarelab Music in Feb ‘22 and then released his debut EP ‘Psychopathic Mind’ later that year.
