  • 31: Cousin 15 - Ben
    Sep 15 2024

Devin and Sarah continue their trip in Idaho to visit cousin Ben. They sat down with him and his wife, Kelly, before a wonderful dinner in their home with their family. Surrounded by world maps, pictures of birds, and legos, they began their interview.

Devin learns of the significance of Ben's name, why he ended up going to law school, his mission, and how Ben and Kelly met and got engaged. Kelly talks about her mission, her work, and all about their children.

Ben shares some incredible and hilarious stories of his youth with cousins, as well as some early memories that he had with Grandpa Andersen. He shares his thoughts on Grandma Andersen as well as some of our aunts and uncles before sharing even more hilarious stories of riding the bus to American Heritage and hanging out with cousins Rich and Glen.

Devin shares memories that he gathered from Ben's father and siblings about Ben when he was younger.

Ben then talks about being a public defender, and Devin peppers him with several questions before he realizes what time it is and ends the episode.

  • 5: Cousin 43 - Kenny Part 2
    Sep 11 2024

Devin and Sarah begin their Idaho Journey by visiting Kenny and Andrea's family in Nampa. Devin felt that Kenny's episode was so short, he deserved a part 2. Also, Devin had forgotten to take a picture with Kenny when they met previously, so that was another good excuse.

Devin jumps right into it by sharing memories that he collected from Kenny's father and siblings. We learn more about his 3rd grade incident, his seizures, but also how he became Class President, his crazy campaign speech, how he "Broke his face" while skiing, and that he played Linus in the school play.

Kenny shares a scary but inspiring story of how a part of their home almost burned down.

Kenny shares his love and appreciation for the podcast, and Devin shares his appreciation at Kenny's appreciation. They end the episode with a reminder about "The Big One" (Andersen Family Reunion) in two years, as well as an update with using Annie as a gestational carrier.

  • 30: Cousin 59- Charity
    Sep 8 2024

Devin and Sarah visit the Bate home in Boise Idaho while visiting a circuit of cousins for the podcast. After briefly visiting with Kenny Kartchner's family, the next stop was Charity's home close by. After a delicious meal with hamburgers and various vegetables and fruits, Charity and Jordan sat down with the Andersens for the podcast.

Devin asks Charity about her name and the impact it's had on her life. Charity learns her cousin number. She talks about life in the Redd family growing up and then Jordan introduces himself and tells the amazing story of how he and Charity met in high school, dated before and after his mission, and the funny and interesting stories of their first date and proposal.

Charity shares a story of going to General Conference to see Grandpa Andersen, and going with her mother to an Andersen Sister Sleepover. She tells stories of Grandma Andersen, and how she and Jordan's family were able to visit her before she passed away to learn of their reason for buying the farm.

Charity shares some hilarious stories of having cousin Stephanie come to visit and family reunions from when we were very young. Devin then shares the many memories and stories he'd collected from her family before moving onto the final topic.

Charity chose "Connecting with the Savior" for her final topic. She shares why that topic has been on her mind, and Devin asks questions about how they each have been able to connect with Christ in their lives lately.
