• The Business of Mental Health
    Jan 8 2024

“It's okay not to be okay.”

Mental health is one of the biggest problems in this generation, more so because it is now talked about. While previous societal structures didn’t allow us to be open about our mental health, right awareness and education has improved the situation.

Mental health triggers are negative emotions due to situations which might be uncomfortable or disturbing to a person.  These can arise due to various factors be it be work life balance, a past memory, or the environment a person grew up in.

People have different ways to deal with their personal mental health. Some people tend to burst with emotions after hiding it for long, while some people try to find reasoning in their intense behavior.

The fact remains emotions are a huge variable which affects the human being deeply. Seeking professional help becomes important to realize the internal problem. While therapy is something which isn’t accessible to everyone due to its scarcity and cost, ignoring your mental health can be a big problem.

Listen to this very engaging podcast about mental health, personal problems, therapy and how it can get overwhelming. Mental health is a problem which is never too late to fight with. Be happy, be optimistic and most importantly be yourself!

  • Gender: A Fading Concept
    Jan 2 2024

Here is another captivating podcast on Gender: A Fading Concept.

For years, we were living in a very binding society which expected us to never question our traditional gender roles which we were given. This led to insecurity and trauma in enormous capacity which affected the life of a person negatively.

It is now that we see these traditional gender roles being questioned. Through science, we get to understand the new multidimensional concept of gender and how it's biological basis can be different from a person’s physical features.

The increased recognition of rights is only possible because of media representation, pop culture, social media and now influencers. We get to know and understand various terms and their reasons because of this increased awareness and education.

This podcast engages in different dimensions of gender roles talking about respecting pronouns, misgendering, gender neutral pronouns, dead names and more. It is something we believe everyone should know and talk about. We hope this conversation does not just end with PowerPod.

  • Somewhere Between a GenZ and a Millenial
    Dec 27 2023

Have you ever felt isolated because of the generation you were born in? If yes, you are not the only one.

With very fast paced changing times, we tend to see a lot of differences between different generations. These differences become particularly burdening when they become stringent labels defining the characteristics of a human.

Not being taken seriously, or being falsified into thinking Gen Z are not in touch with their social and cultural roots leads to insincerity towards their efforts. Similarly, being called ‘archaic’ or being age shamed due to their facial features, Millennials can feel a sense of insecurity conversing with other people.

While due to technological evolution, and abundance of opportunities for Gen Z or lack thereof for Millennials when they were young, we can see a huge change of pattern in childhood and growth. However, it’s important to appreciate these differences and learn mutually from them, gauging the best of both the world’s.

Get to listen to the views of our participants, and how they believe in breaking this narrow sense of thinking for a better world.

  • Barbieland
    Dec 21 2023

Barbie was one of the biggest movies of 2023 which unexpectedly brought light to many issues relevant in today’s world. When we think of Barbie we think of a flawless doll with the perfect hair and the perfect outfit, but this movie delved way deeper.

Another one of Greta Grewig’s masterpiece, the movie portrayed Barbie as kind, passionate, soulful, fun, creative and much more. It highlighted the insecurities of not only being a woman in this world, but a human being.

Pink revolution as we call it, from our emotions to production everything was colored with a layer of hope to celebrate being ordinary, to celebrate being a human with flaws and struggles.

While this movie was a favorite of many, it also received its own criticism, be it be for screenplay or marketing. Barbie was a controversy in itself, something which we thoroughly discuss in this episode.
