• 53 | How to Calm and Ground Yourself In under 5 Minutes
    Jun 6 2024

    Hey, Sister-friend 👋🏽

On any given day, our nervous system goes through various states of activation. This is quite normal as we need to be flexible enough to move from a state of calm, to activated to calm or even from freeze to calm. At times, the system can move from calm to freeze or shut down, and you might find it difficult to navigate the changes.

Today I’ll share a simple exercise that you can apply at the first sign of activation to help you remain calm and connected to the present.

Best of all, you can do this in 5 minutes or less.

I hope this episode blesses you.

    With Healingand Love 😊

  • 52 | How to Heal Complex PTSD as a Christian Woman
    Jun 3 2024

    Hey, Sister-friend 👋🏽

This month, Mental Health America is highlighting the challenges of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Today, I will be doing the same from the lens of Childhood trauma and the Christian woman. I’ll share symptoms of PTSD, or PTS as it is now being called, the connection to childhood trauma and options for your healing.

Generally, PTSD is caused by a single traumatic event, like a car accident, assault, or natural disaster.

While C-PTSD is caused by repeated or prolonged trauma over a long period, often in childhood. This can include abuse, neglect, domestic violence, or living in a war zone.

Symptoms of C-PTSD can be intrusive and follow a survivor for a long time. In addition, there are unique challenges Christian women survivors face. We will explore all this today, as well as how to find healing.

I hope this episode blesses and inspires you.

  • 50 | Beyond Trauma and Witchcraft: A Neuro-Theological Path to Healing with Dr Karen Liddel
    May 27 2024

    Hey, Sister-friend 👋🏽

My guest today is Dr. Karen Liddell, an ordained minister, a licensed clinical pastoral counsellor with the National Christian Counselling Association, a success mindset coach, a best-selling author, and a speaker.

Karen became fascinated with the process of healing trauma to recover from her own past of childhood trauma which influenced her decision to engage in witchcraft and marry a narcissistic spouse.

As a trauma survivor, you do not have to keep living with the wounds of your past. You don’t have to settle for living a reactionary life.

Healing is possible, and today, Dr. Karen shares her amazing journey of moving from trauma to engaging scripture and biblically aligned science to retrain her brain, reclaim the truth of who God says she is and how she uses her knowledge and experience to help her clients heal.

I hope this episode blesses you.

  • 49 | 5 Tips For Developing a Growth Mindset for Healing
    May 23 2024

    Hey, Sister-friend 👋🏽

Why is it important to develop a growth mindset?

The simple answer is - if you don’t believe your mind can change and grow, you won’t be as open to the life you can have beyond your trauma. Trauma has a way of making survivors believe that things won’t get better, circumstances won’t change, you will be this way for the rest of your life. That is a very discouraging way to go through life, but the good news is, that is not the truth. You do have the ability to change, heal and grow and it starts with believing that you can and that things can get better. Today I talk about shifting from a fixed mindset that wants you to believe change is not possible to embrace a growth mindset of possibilities I will provide 5 tips on how to do that.

I hope this episode blesses you. In Healing and Love 😊

  • 48 | Are You in a Love Relationship or Trauma Bonded. How to Get the Help You Need.
    May 20 2024

    Hey, Sister-friend 👋🏽

Are you in a love relationship, or are you trauma-bonded?

Childhood trauma can cast a long shadow, affecting how survivors approach romantic and platonic relationships in adulthood. When there is broken trust, dysfunction, and poor attachment in childhood, adult survivors tend to go through life trying to replicate the experiences of childhood. They look for opportunities to have corrective experiences, or they continue to seek out what is familiar.

This is so automatic because the person is following a pattern that has been set. One common outcome is survivors of childhood trauma get together with another wounded party in what is called a trauma bond, and that is what we will be exploring today. We’ll look at what is a trauma bond, how to identify a healthy relationship and how to take your first steps to break free. I hope this episode blesses and inspires you.
