Do we get who God is?

His eye is on the sparrow.
How much more is His eye on us?

    • He has counted every hair on our heads.
    • He knows our comings and goings.
    • He captures our tears in bottles.
    • He knows the desires of our hearts.

    What we think... God hears.

My mind is blown away by how intimately God knows me.

    What about you?

God captures every moment of our lives.

He sees us. Hears us. Cares for us.

Oh, my precious friend, we are valuable to God.

“Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his steadfast love.” Psalm 33:18 ESV

To fear God is to see Him.

    To recognize His greatness.

To know Him at a deeper level.

To have hope in Him is to trust what He says.

And to lean into His understanding, not our own.

To believe His word is true and for our good.

His love for us always remains strong.

    Never fails. Never leaves.

    His love is steadfast.

God wants us to “get” Him, to know Him more.
Though we may not know all of Him, knowing more and more about Him every day grows our relationship in a mighty way.

When we understand who God is, our hope—all of it—will reflect His love for us—His everlasting love.

    Let’s journey together.

Precious Lord, Your mercy gives me life.

    Your love overcomes all things.

Your mighty arms of hope lift me from the miry clay.

I am released from the lies of this world.

O Abba, I praise Your name.

My eyes are open to who You are.

Help me to stay the course.

Give me the strength to withstand the frustrations of this world.

You have not given me a spirit of fear.

I desire to remain in Your will.

    Your grace humbles me.

You are my all in all.

    Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.

  • A Gift is a Gift--Right?
    Jul 26 2024

    A gift is a gift—right?

Let’s Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

Are you content with your gifting?

I’ve mentioned before—at least I believe I’ve discussed my issue with my voice here—for the longest time, I wouldn't say I liked how I sounded. Let’s say I was discontent with God’s gift.

The main point is that I didn’t recognize my voice as a gift from God. I was very self-focused compared to being Father-focused. “Why is my voice different?” “Why do I sound the way I do.”

    My, my. I, I.

    Ugh, it’s all about me.

Yet... This gift from Father, my voice, brings me such joy today. Audiobook narrator. Podcast host. Speaker. Radio host. Conference emcee. Goodness. How did I not know?

Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17 (paraphrase)

Our Lord knows us. His plan for us never changes.

He designed us for His purpose and has placed us exactly where He needs us.

God gifts us to care for His children in unique ways.

Yet not every gift, though excellent and perfect, is the one we expect to get.

    • The gift of perseverance can be a gift wrapped in struggles.
    • The gift of knowledge can be wrapped in limited relationships.
    • The gift of mercy can be a gift wrapped in trials.
    • The gift of peace can be wrapped in a submissive heart.
    • The gift of encouragement can be wrapped in a different voice.
    • The gift of contentment is wrapped in less of me and more of God.

    And Joy?
J.O.Y. is always wrapped in Jesus, Overflowing You … and me.

What gift has Father given you that you may not be content with?

    Let’s journey together.

Oh, Father, You are the Lover of my Soul.

You are the ultimate gift-giver, and I adore You.

Open my heart to receive all You have for me.

Help me to understand that my desires are not always Your best for me.

I know Your gifts are good and perfect.

Remind my heart when I begin to back away from Your best.

Help me remain steadfast and true to Your calling for my life, to honor and glorify You.

    Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.

  • Are You in Need of Refreshing?
    Jul 24 2024

Are you in need of refreshing?

Let’s Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

While traveling in Uruguay, I was mesmerized by the clarity of the Atlantic Ocean crashing on the rocks—it was crystal clear right up to the shoreline.

Walking on the beach, sand squishing between my toes, felt comforting. When I stepped into the water, it refreshed me with unexpected energy—unexpected yet needed.

The combination of heat and sand drained my energy.

Though the sand felt good, I expended more energy than I realized. The temperature wasn’t extreme. It was subtly warm and getting hotter as I walked.
I had no idea that dehydration was setting in.

    The water recharged me.
    It refreshed me.
    It revived me.

We can experience spiritual dehydration just as subtly.

We become complacent in our walk with Christ.
    The world weighs us down.
    Our energy is drained.
We plod along, oblivious to our spiritual need for a refreshing wave—a renewing.

As children of the Most High, we can live in a constant state of renewal.

Yet, like walking on the beautiful sand, we may not see the need to enter the water. This choice, sadly, is to remain spiritually dehydrated, which leaves us ill-prepared for the life we are called to live in Christ.

The Psalmist recognized his need for refreshing.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10 ESV).

Asking God to renew a right spirit in us is like stepping eagerly into the refreshing waves of the ocean. The salt cleanses our wounds. The strength of the waves causes us to shore up our footing. The breeze invigorates our senses.
We are revived, renewed, and recharged.

I love stepping into the ocean.
Where do you go to be refreshed?

    Let’s journey together.

Praise You, O God. Rush over me like refreshing waves. Cleanse my heart. Create a revived spirit within me. You are holy, O Lord. You are merciful. I desire to walk in Your way all of my days. To You, be all glory, honor, and praise. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
