  • It's Time to Rally Our Hope
    May 24 2024

The mustering of hope is needed in a mighty way.

We witness the decline of hope in the happenings around the world. Anger. Chaos. Destruction.

    Families falling apart.
Parents struggling to hold “it” together.
Young people are easily distracted by folly.

In the midst of all things, hope is being silenced.
    Hearts ache. Souls are tormented.

King David knew this feeling all too well, and yet—He praised His God.

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” Psalm 42:11 NIV

Oh, brothers and sisters, let us rally our hope together.

Hope is our strength, the knot in our life rope we hang on to when circumstances scream at us to let go.

Hope holds the door open when the winds of life are working hard to slam it shut.

    Hope is Jesus Christ.
Our friend. Our Way. Our All in all

Hold on to the One who is our Hope.
He will keep us above the storm.

Step through the door held open by Hope.
Trust that God has made a way.

Believe in the Hope who is Christ Jesus.
He is all we need to be all we’re designed to be.

    Let’s journey together.

Help me, O Lord, to rally my hope in You. May the Hope of life shine through me today as I share Your goodness and kindness with others. To You, O God, be all glory—Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.

  • Weariness Can Wear Us Out!
    May 22 2024

Let’s Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your time with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

Sam and I enjoy hiking in Texas State Parks. One of our must-haves is a burnt orange backpack with multiple pockets. The exterior straps secure two water bottles, hold down a blanket, and dangle our gloves via individual carabiners.

    What's Inside the Backpack?

Inside the pack, we place a park map, battery extenders for our phones, Sam's camera, compass, a couple of caps, two lightweight jackets, lip balm, bandages, tweezers, flashlight, snacks, plastic bags, paper towels, notepad, and pencil—and anything else we happen to toss in the night before.

We stop as I take photos of the local flora. On occasion, we rest under a shade tree and partake in a sip or two of water, a piece of fruit, and a finger-length strip of beef jerky. It's incredible how much a backpack can hold.

Thankfully, the weight is distributed equally across Sam's back by tugging different straps snugly and positioning the foam-padded back support firmly in place. Without physical balance, hiking would be tiresome indeed.

    What's in Your Emotional Backpack?

Consider how we all carry backpacks full of frustration, doubt, anxiety, or fear with no means to balance our emotions. Pent-up feelings and concerns can cause us to be emotionally weary for sure.

All of us carry side-pocket thoughts.

How will we make it until our next paycheck?

What if my health gets worse?

How can I help my child move past this?

I can’t see any light in this tunnel I’m in.

The Lord reminds us to lean more on Him and less on the worries this world brings.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 ESV).

Rest. Rest is what we need.

Rest, in this case, is not sleep.
    Rest is freedom from worry.

By exchanging the frustration, doubt, anxiety, and fear in my backpack with more time reading the Bible, praying for others, and thanking God for His provision, the emotional weight becomes evenly disbursed, and weariness is replaced by hope.

    What about you?
What do you carry in your backpack?
How are you finding a peaceful balance?

    Let’s journey together.

Abba Father, thank You for lifting the heavy burdens and providing rest when life threatens to become unbearable. Open my eyes to see Your path and provision. Allow Your peace that passes all understanding to flow freely through me. O Lord, I praise Your name. You are Almighty, All-Knowing, and Ever-present. I love You. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.

  • Pressed? Perplexed? Pursued?
    May 20 2024

Let’s Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

Do not lose hope, my brothers and sisters.

Look to the horizon and witness the light—it is the mercy and grace of God All Mighty!

We all feel struck down at some point in life. Perhaps it’s the pay raise we were depending on that never arrived. A new relationship that promised to be the “right” one that turned out wrong. A medical report we dreaded is confirmed. No one is immune.

And yet… in the midst of all the pressing, we are not destroyed.

    We are not forgotten.
    We are not alone.
    We will survive.

“We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 WMB).

    How can this be?

Are these words—not crushed, not to despair, not forsaken, and not destroyed simply words? Or are they truth you can walk in?

Oh, my friend, as a child of God we can trust His word to be true. And in our trusting, only in our trusting, are we able to embrace the “And yet…”

    Are you there yet?

Is your heart of assurance beating louder than the words of doubt in your mind?
Do your feet move forward when the world cries out for you to stop and give up?
Do others remark on your tenacity?
Do others walk in Your wake refreshed by your spirit of joy?
Do you see hope while others desperately seek it?

Then yes, oh yes. You are there, and isn’t “And yet…” a lovely place to be?

I pray you are experiencing the, and yet… life with Christ. If not, please know I’m praying for you. I’m praying for you to know God in a way you’ve never considered before. I’m praying for the Truth of Jesus to set you free (John 8:31-32). You are loved beyond measure and valued beyond perfection. And yet…

    Let’s journey together.

I cry out to You, Abba Daddy. Stir my soul with the Truth. Remind me of Who You are. Let me be anchored to You, my Harbor. Guide me to the shore of redemption this day. I praise You for my provisions, for my strength, and for all wisdom. With a new dawn, O God, I claim Your mercy and grace. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
