  • Birth planning vs. a 'birth plan' What are the differences and what are the benefits?
    Jun 7 2024

In this episode, myself and Emma discuss what the differences are between birth planning and a birth plan and what the benefits are of doing this. We discuss how planning for your birth isn't just about writing a birth plan of your preferences, but actually planning for ALL aspects of birth and different birth sceanarios, including how to adapt and make informed decisions when birth plans change. By planning in advance, this will help parents-to-be to feel more in control, empowered, prepared and confident for birth, contributing to a more positive birth experience. So join us as we discuss this in great detail during this episode and give you the tools and knowledge to help you start with your birth planning journey. • Feeding Support in East Surrey - talking with Cafe Milk about how to get support with feeding your baby
    May 1 2024

In this episode, myself and the lovely Emma are joined by Cafe Milk Cafe Milk are a long-established breastfeeding support group, which have been running in Caterham, Horley and Redhill since 2007/8 (when was originally called Baby Cafe) Back in 2018/19, funding was lost when the children's centres closed. So a group of local mothers associated with the cafés decided to form a Community Interest Company to keep them running and the name was changed to Café Milk. In 2022, Cafe Milk applied to convert to a charity and this application was approved in 2023. They run three weekly drop-in cafés in Caterham, Horley and Redhill, running during school term times. Each session is two hours long and is supported by a qualified breastfeeding counsellor, a member of the health visiting team and trained peer supporters. During this episode both Aimee and Romi discuss how much the charity has helped local families and the valuable support it provides to parents and families every week. For more information on timetable and locations, please see following links:- Café Milk website: https://cafemilk.org/
