  • Breaking Free: Liz Urbina's Journey from Burnout to Empowering Women with Conscious Eating
    Sep 3 2024

haIn this episode of *The Secret KeepHers* podcast, I interview Liz Urbina, a former engineer who transitioned into a holistic nutritionist focusing on conscious eating, particularly for women over 40. Liz shares her journey from a high-performing but health-compromised professional to a passionate advocate for holistic health. She discusses her struggles with bloating, fatigue, and other health issues, which led her to seek alternative medicine and ultimately change her career path.

Liz emphasizes the importance of reconnecting with one's body, understanding hunger cues, and making conscious, healthy choices that move away from both processed foods and restrictive diets. She also discusses the cultural normalization of unhealthy eating habits and the pharmaceutical industry's role in perpetuating these issues.

A pivotal moment in Liz's journey was a diagnosis that she would be unable to have another child, which motivated her to take control of her health and eventually help others do the same. She credits a mentor who helped her focus on nurturing her body and preparing for a healthier future.

Liz also highlights the importance of bringing family along in the journey towards better health, sharing how her son now appreciates healthy foods. She offers a free guide on maintaining a strong metabolism after 40, encouraging a holistic approach to aging and wellness.

Throughout the episode, Liz and I discuss the challenges and rewards of making positive, lasting changes in one’s health and the importance of having a good coach to guide and support that process. Liz’s passion for her work and her dedication to helping others shines through, making this a compelling and inspiring conversation.

About Liz: Dynamic professional engineer Liz Urbina was the perfect example of a high achieving successful businesswoman, excelling in the petroleum industry for over twenty-two years in three different countries, making multi-million dollar decisions.

Her career was thriving. Sadly, her health was not. Coping with stress by living on caffeine, fast food, and her fortifying daily glass of wine, just like modern women everywhere, Liz was dealing with digestive issues, chronic adult acne, weight gain, and hormonal imbalances. Ultimately, unexplained infertility in her early thirties galvanizedher into definitely taking control of her well-being.

Now, as a Certified Nutrition Coach and empowered eating expert, Liz is passionate abouthelping women discover a new and natural way to radiant overall health without the unnatural gimmicks of dieting. If you’re feeling dragged down by digestive issues, lacking energy, and that true zest for life, working together with Liz will guide you to forget past failures and embrace her loving, positive approach to nurturing your body.
