  • The mental health spectrum and how it applies to you: episode 1 of 6
    Feb 1 2023

PART 1 OF A 6 PART SERIES ON THE MENTAL HEALTH SPECTRUM

In today's episode, I talk about the mental health spectrum and briefly discuss its social, spiritual, emotional and psychological-cognitive aspects.

And also talk about a scientific research study which found that it is best to look at mental health issues on a spectrum, taking a wholistic approach, rather than seeing mental health as fixed to one disorder or the next

Mental health affects everyone in some shape or form, and understanding the mental health spectrum is essential to overall well-being.

    https://www.ancientfuturevision.org/mental-health-podcast-self-help/

over the course of this series I explore the mental health spectrum and how it can help us understand different mental health issues.

I start off by looking at what the mental health spectrum actually is, and how it helps us to understand mental health better.

I will talk about the different mental health categories, including physical health, psychological-cognitive well-being, emotional, spiritual and social functioning.

I will also discuss the different types of mental illnesses and how they fit into the spectrum.

I  will then discuss the importance of understanding the mental health spectrum and how it can help us better understand our own mental health and that of others.

I will explore how understanding the spectrum can help us recognise mental health issues in ourselves and others and how to seek help if needed.

Finally, we will discuss how to use the mental health spectrum to improve our overall mental health.

I will talk about the importance of self-care and ensuring that we are taking the time to do things that help us stay mentally and physically healthy.
