  • 140: Greatest Hits of Summer: Declare Your Freedom From Diets and Overeating
    Jul 3 2024

Freedom from overeating isn’t just a catchy phrase or a diet in disguise. Freedom is the feeling that most women I talk to are craving. Freedom from feeling haunted by cravings. By sugar. By the scale. Freedom from having four sizes of pants in their closet. Freedom from waking up every morning wondering if it’s going to be a “good day” or a “bad day” with food and their weight. Freedom from having thoughts about food, about eating, about losing weight, and about “being good” taking up SO much room in their brains.

As a part of the Greatest Hits of Summer series, I’m rereleasing this important episode where I share more about what freedom really is and what it takes to achieve freedom from overeating in a lasting way.

    In this episode:

    • Recognizing the need for a personalized approach
    • Moving beyond short-term fixes
    • Embracing trial-and-error and imperfection
    • The importance of a supportive community

  • 139: Greatest Hits of Summer: Peace with Food on Vacation
    Jun 26 2024

This episode was originally published as Episode 44. I’m bringing it back because I get SO many questions about how to plan for eating (and not overeating) on vacation.

I’m a huge believer in vacations, but you shouldn’t have to take a vacation from your relationship with food. Unfortunately, many smart, busy women feel like they do. The culprit: diet mentality, and thoughts and beliefs you might not even know you have.

What I cover in this episode:

    • How diet mentality makes your thoughts about vacation eating complicated
    • The two thoughts that sabotage our eating on vacation
    • How to enjoy your vacation and honor your goals (if you want to)
    • Why freedom from overeating isn’t a cheat day or depriving yourself on vacation (and how to figure out what it IS for you)

  • 138: Transitions, Overeating, and Overwhelm - and Doing Things Differently
    Jun 12 2024

In this episode, I’m sharing what I discovered about how I handle (and don’t handle) transitions before and after a vacation, the unnecessary drama and stress I have created in the past, and what I’m experimenting with to take my power back from overwhelm and to break automatic habits that often lead to overeating.

    In this episode:

    • Why transitions are often a major time for overeating, emotions eating, and mindless eating
    • My brain drama (that you might share or relate to)
    • Why not managing a transition can lead to procrastination, overwork, or numbing
    • An experiment for breaking autopilot habits like overeating during transitions

  • 137: One Way to Lose Weight Without Dieting
    Jun 5 2024

While there’s no magic “how to lose weight without dieting” formula, there are some easy steps that can help you move away from diet mentality and diet behavior. In this episode of the Too Much on Her Plate podcast, I’m sharing a conversation with a client that helped her make a massive shift that makes overeating less powerful and less of a focus in her life.

    In this episode:

    • Understanding your weight loss goal from a non-diet perspective
    • Why food was my client’s main source of pleasure
    • How diet mentality and putting “rewards” after the goal can keep you stuck
    • How to be at your goal now
