  • Qigong Saved My Eyesight - Richard Clegg's Vision Journey.
    Jul 17 2024

Defying the odds, was almost a birthright for Richard Clegg. Eastern practices always intrigued him, even at an early age. So the Zhineng Qigong practice was no stranger to Richard.

On Mount Hua, east of Xi’an China - he found himself taking an abundance of photographs of his right eye only, as this was the eye that everything occurred in. A retinologist ran tests and the results were that of a detached retina. Due to a tumor in the back of his eye. It could be lethal, if not dealt properly, they said. Enucleation, a primary treatment method.

Richard’s response was, “I will survive, I will thrive, and I will see again”. Intentions were made clear. He declined enucleation as an option. Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, was the next stop as the retina specialist referred him to another doctor but before that, Richard took a detour. After an acupuncture treatment, Andrew Huey, revealed if it wasn’t for his mindful practices over the years, things could have been worse. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the eye is the orifice to the liver. The liver holds and stores emotions such as anger, rage or feeling stuck.

In Hunyuan Qi Therapy, Richard recalled these “Heart Stones” - understanding how life altering events leave emotional imprints and working through these blockages achieves emotional freedom.

Columbia Presbyterian Hospital was the order of the day, following his acupuncture session. A western medical professional presented another treatment. Radiation seed therapy. This medical procedure treats cancer with precision.

Through Zhineng Qigong practice, radiation seed treatment, intention & detaching from his diagnosis, professionals at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital were surprised to find that Richard was already 4 years ahead of his healing process.

Simply put, when many opposed, Richard Clegg Said 'Watch Me!'. Tune in to hear his story.

  • Qigong's First Consciousness Lab - Mariana de la Vega
    Jul 10 2024

Meditation practitioner and university lecturer, Mariana de la Vega, was always in search of answers about human existence. Taoist principles, ancient texts and passages were among the materials she studied. Buddhist influences such as “The Heart Sutra'' was another passage she studied but was never truly satisfied with the answers she found. She could not experience what these books about consciousness taught, until she was introduced to the Zhineng Qigong practice.

Emotional healing is a central theme to Mariana’s “Consciousness Lab”, a group of like-minded individuals who discuss these insights among each other. The mind tends to separate or compartmentalize thoughts and emotions, which was evident in the books she studied. When the mind-body separation occurs, it can result in suffering. In Qigong, it’s “Shen” that moves “Qi”. To perceive your thoughts without reaction is to bring Qi back to yourself, back to the present moment and allow for unity or “oneness” to ensue.

Zhineng Qigong practitioners, instructors and followers will gain invaluable information on deepening their practice and understanding of foundational consciousness concepts. Learn how emotional balance through Qigong can transform your life and explore the benefits of Zhineng Qigong for holistic wellness.

Tune in for this insightful episode!

    Mindful Moments:

    • How the concept of oneness relates to mind-body separation and suffering
    • Chinese philosophy: Understanding Shen (the conscious mind) and Qi (vital life force) in relation to consciousness
    • Buddhism teachings from the Heart Sutra
    • Tao Te Ching principles: The way of nature and impacts on human existence
    • In Zhineng Qigong your thoughts are "just the story of your life repeating itself"
    • “Intention vs wishes” in Zhineng Qigong practice.
    • Holistic health: Integrating mind-body connection through Zhineng Qigong
    • Emotion Healing with Zhineng Qigong: powerful techniques for emotional regulation
    • Developing awareness: Perception, without reaction in Zhineng Qigong

  • Navigating Neurodiversity with Qigong: Calming minds with Regina Dell Oro
    Jul 3 2024

When autism or neurodiversity becomes disabling, Qigong can offer a path to healing. Regina Dell Oro was told it was impossible to find healing for her son who has autism. Using Qigong, she did three things to create calm within the space of neurodiversity.

Autism naturally comes with diverse ways of thinking, experiencing, and interacting with the world. When those differences are neglected more than they are nurtured, symptoms can escalate, challenges become more immense, and one can become debilitated. With the aim of balancing qi, from being too condensed in the brain, to being regulated in the entire body. Regina, first as a mother and skilled Zhineng Qigong practitioner, set out to find healing for her son and the other young adults who sought the calm.

First, she shifted fundamental thoughts and behaviours of happiness using Dr Pang Ming's "Happy Quarter" technique, thinking "before you practice Zhineng Qigong, you practice happiness". Second, she introduced chanting as a way of communicating. Teaching "Hao La" and "Hunyuan Lingtong" she gave her students a tool to deescalate their fears and anxieties. These magic words related that everything was okay, and more so it gave her students, who often struggled with communication, the ability to recognize when things start to feel out of control. Even with Kai He, the La Qi method, her students could integrate practice into their daily lives, by recognizing and feeling with speech. Third, she carefully introduced movement. As to not initiate seizures, she considerately taught them how to move their neck and spine. With Zhineng Qigong Methods like, Crane’s Neck, Wall Squats they were moving Qi from the brain to the rest of the body.

For Regina it was "always a dance of what can be done, what cannot be done, and where we need to push a little bit". Through it all, she used her skills and understanding to adapt the practice of Qigong and make it more relatable to people with neurodiversity. By breaking down the movements, renaming and reframing, she achieved the impossible. Tune in to hear her story.

    Mindful Moments:

    • Zhineng Qigong in search of healing for autism and neurodiversity after many failed methods
    • Finding calm, and peace with Qigong and initiating a teaching practice for her own son and other young adults who had special needs
    • The importance of stopping misery in special needs environments and the use of Dr Pang Ming’s “happy quarter”
    • The nature of autism and people with neurodiversity, the importance of self-regulation, regulating emotions and adapting to situations and environments
    • Chanting and sounds as tools for students to identify emotions and to self-regulate
    • The impacts of qigong practice on confidence, coping with life, regulation and preventing escalation of neurodiversity and autism
