  • 009 - Trolls, Goals + when NOT to go viral!
    Jul 15 2024

Hey Weirdos! I’m braving it this week by putting out my first solo topic episode where I discuss a juicy topic with tips + advice. Something I’d planned to do more of from Autumn, integrating around interview episodes, but that I was compelled to spontaneously record after a recent experience with internet trolling!

Join me as I share my first experiences of negative comments online as a Millennial teenager, as we navigated the internet as Digital Natives, graduating the experience by discussing dealing with your first troll in your business.

To some, getting your first troll can be a good thing (“Look Mom, I made it!”), but the reality for many is that it can also be a negative or stressful experience - especially for Neurodiverse or emotionally sensitive business owners.

I’ll share my experience of what happened to me last week when I unwittingly outed myself as a blonde, middle aged jilted ex-wife to over a million people (note: I’m a happily married brunette 30 something), when I was simply trying to show appreciation to a fellow industry supplier. How did I put my foot in it so badly, what did the trolls say, and what did I do to fix it? Tune in to find out.

Whether you’re dealing with a troll at present, you’ve had your share in the past, or it’s something you’ve yet to experience, I hope my episode helps you to feel like you’re not on your own and gives you the invisible weaponry to tackle those keyboard warriors head on! It may not be the answer you think!

In true ADHD style I also enjoy a side topic discussing goal setting and accountability and how the internet can be a great place for a community of likeminded folk who will have your back. Just make sure you’re prepared if a troll slips in the back door!

Here’s that Red Cross Twitter faux pas article if you were interested too: https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/red-cross-rogue-tweet_n_824114

Keep being your amazing weirdo self, and don’t let those trolls get you down!

  • 008 - Animation + Inspiration with Flanamation
    Jul 8 2024

Hey Weirdos! In Episode 8 of Work it Weirdo the Podcast, I'm thrilled to be joined by CBBC Animator, Content Creator, Lord of the puns and self proclaimed Man Child, Adam Flanagan, aka Flanamation.

Adam and I connected over an online drawing challenge (obvs) and he's been an absolute joy to follow - a true Poster boy for being your authentic, weird self online, embracing your passions, sharing your joy and acing Personal Branding. As soon as I launched the podcast, I knew he would make the perfect guest and he will hopefully encourage you to be bold and be YOU.

Join 2 passionate Neurodiverse creatives as we chat about Adam's journey from a Toy Story and animation loving kid to a Professional kids' animator, as well as a range of fun topics such as:

    • Escaping the 'shirt + tie lifestyle'
    • Turning doodles to Dolla!
    • Content Creation
    • Passion projects
    • Shooting your shot with your idols
    • Personal Branding on Instagram
    • Embracing Neurodiversity
    • Special interests + hyperfixations
    • The importance of a supportive online community
    • Truly being your weird and wonderful self
    • Being at one with the cringe
    • Feeling shame for how you approach tasks as a Neurodiverse person (+ positive encouragement)
    • Plus lots of Disney and Pixar tangents!

For the Millennial Emo Prince with a wardrobe of pure black, Flanamation is such a colourful guy both online and in interview. His passion and joy for what he does are contagious and I hope this episode resonates with Creatives, Neurodiverse superstars, people looking to leave their 9-5, and anyone who wants to show up more online and be their bad self!

It's a super long episode, but that's what happens in the melting pot of 2 Neurodiverse brains discussing their fave things. Please do check my Instagram @workitweirdo for a range of fun Reels including Adam's pun count, a bloopers reel, and the best bits. You must check it out if only to see his impressive Toy Story backdrop!

  • 007 - From Ex to Expert Dating Coach with Rachel Teeling
    Jul 1 2024

Hey Weirdos! Strap yourselves in for this one because it's such a juicy, fun and entertaining listen with Rachel Teeling, a Dating Expert who specialises in helping women rediscover their own identity, their true worth and heal from past relationships traumas. Through her expert coaching, Rachel helps women through heartbreak and turmoil to fall in love with themselves and their lives again to become the hero in their own story!

In 2018 Rachel had a big white wedding planned to the guy of her dreams, after 9 years and 4 year old daughter together. But 4 weeks before the wedding, he spontaneously cancelled everything moved out without any explanation, leaving Rachel devastated. She later discovered on Social Media that he'd been having an affair and suddenly found herself as a broken single mother with her future shattered.

This kickstarted her self development journey and lead to her training as a life coach. Now Rachel wants to help you rediscover your own identity and regain your self worth, uncovering past traumas, which are holding you back from getting the lasting loving relationship which you desire.

In this episode Rachel opens up and takes us through her journey, telling her story with all the details, twists and turns you would expect from a Dating expert and Podcaster.

We talk Tinder, Navigating your new life, coming to terms with your new role and identity, Dirty men (and women!) and ultimately how to turn that tragedy into triumph.

Rachel explains how she transmuted that heartbreak into becoming the coach she wished she had, and monetising her expertise to become an expert in her field.

Whatever your relationship status, business or industry, this is such an interesting listen and we certainly had a good old chuckle together! The vibes were flowing and it was such a joy to chat to Rachel and listen to her Happily Ever After in love, life and business.
