Story
At the age of 68, Dr. Zeev Gilkis, a cancer survivor, decided to gift himself an unusual present for his 70th birthday - to run his first full marathon. In his previous book Running Back in Time, the author, writing at the time at age 69, told the story of the first half of his journey. The Beautiful Addiction relates the second part of his journey, through which Zeev gradually increases the distance of his runs from 21 kilometers to 42 kilometers while sharing his thoughts about life and becoming ageless, all the way to the surprising ending.

Story
I've been a Fitbit user for some time now, and it took me some time to get the hang of its unique features. I checked on the main website and some other forums, but I learned most of what I know by experimenting with it. I've written this short guide to help the new Fitbit user. This is an honest assessment of my experience. There are some things I would change, which I'll come onto later, but overall I've been very pleased with it. I hope you in turn find some value from this guide, and make the most of this fitness tech.

Story
One of the greatest marathon runners of all time, Tom Longboat was one of the best-known athletes of the western world in the early 20th century. Longboat was an astonishing long-distance runner who grew up on the Six Nations reserve near Brantford, Ontario. He won the Boston Marathon in record time, 2:24.24, almost five minutes faster than the 10 previous winners. Longboat then raced in the Olympic Marathon in 1908, but he collapsed on the course amid rumours that his manager had drugged him with strychnine.

Six years later, she has run five marathons in two continents. But, as her dad says, you run with your head as much as with your legs.

Story
52 Marathons in 52 Weeks: How to Run a Marathon Every Week for a Year by Karl Gruber is the definitive guide on how to go about preparing yourself to run one 26.2 mile race - a marathon - for 52 straight weeks. Gruber himself successfully accomplished running 52 marathons in 52 weeks in 1996-1997. While it may seem that this topic represents a small niche of runners, the running of multiple marathons on a regular basis has seen massive growth and popularity in the past 20 years.

Deborah Harkness first introduced the world to Diana Bishop, an Oxford scholar and witch, and vampire geneticist Matthew de Clermont in A Discovery of Witches. Drawn to each other despite long-standing taboos, these two otherworldly beings found themselves at the center of a battle for a lost, enchanted manuscript known as Ashmole 782. Since then, they have fallen in love, traveled to Elizabethan England, dissolved the Covenant between the three species, and awoken the dark powers within Diana’s family line.

There has been much debate over how we got here, and what to do next, and bestselling author and social psychologist Jonathan Haidt is at the white-hot center of that discourse. Haidt has spent his career speaking wisdom and truth into the most difficult landscapes—communities polarized by politics and religion, campuses battling culture wars, and now the perfect storm contributing to a public health emergency for Gen Z.

Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.
