Die Miniatur "Georg Friedrich Händels Auferstehung" beschreibt als phantasmagorische Erzählung die Entstehung des Oratoriums Messias im August des Jahres 1741 vollkommen unhistorisch und fiktiv. Händel war nach einem Schlaganfall so schwer erkrankt, dass ihn die Ärzte fast aufgegeben hatten. Doch er gesundete nach einer Kur in Aachen wieder und schuf - nach der Erzählung Zweigs - sein bekanntestes Werk wie in einem Rausch. Die Idee für den Messiah ging von Charles Jennens aus, der vorher schon das Libretto für das Oratorium Saul geschrieben hatte.
