Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

this is an awesome sci-fi horror!
I really enjoyed this listen. the story is exciting, tension filled, and actually scary. not much waiting around for the action to start either. also, I'm typically not a fan of the virtual narration, but this one was pretty good. so all in all this is a great listen, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

the subtle book agenda
blatant rip off of the ghosts of Mars with bad pod devices and repeat it on me mistakes by the main characters. I hate the AI reader with a passion is pronounces words incorrectly for the love of God pay a voice actor

AI narration was weird
Great story for space horror but the AI narration struggled with names and was a bit clunky.

Good story bad virtual voice
The virtual voice leaves so much to be desired. Mispronunciation, lack of tone. But great story. Author deserves a better audio version.

the story line because it's believable
the voice doesn't give it enough character. I don't like the robot voice at all.

Story was ok, autobot voice was intolerable
The story was just decent but I couldn't stand the AI voiceover. the cadence, emphasis and pronunciation was just horrible. hard to pay attention to the story when you're constantly distracted by having to rework what's being said
