Publisher's summary
The Cargo is a 55,000 word, science fiction horror in the vein of Aliens and Mimic. Tonally, the story is dark, with an ever-looming sense of impending horror just beyond the next hatchway.
It’s tense, foreboding and teetering at the edge of hopelessness, a frighteningly visceral journey of survival.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Bishop is trapped deep inside Montana's Apex Valley along with his injured wife, a shotgun-wielding stranger named Colbrick, and a sneaking suspicion he's never making it back to Chicago. Things no man has seen before haunt the woods. Strange animal species creep behind pine trees, some of them with flashing red tags that blink faster and faster. Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti - Dozens of names refer to the existence of a similar creature. Native American tribes have hundreds of stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. Many believe that the government is aware of Sasquatch, and to protect financial interests, they choose to cover up what they know. Many other theories permeate the landscape of cryptozoology, yet no scientific proof has ever been documented. ...

would love to a this turned into a short film. Felt original and wished it kept going.

an okay sci-fi horror.
a large monstrosity hunts down the crew of a cargo spaceship. sound familiar? this is not exactly an offshoot of the classic alien movies from yesteryear, but it is rather similar. in this story The Monster is brought on board as cargo, which a drunken crewman unwittingly releases. now don't snicker, the monster turns out to be a giant mosquito. sounds crazy, but it actually works. the action does not take long to start, and overall the story is well done. I liked it.
