Resumen del Editor

The Oz Principle is the groundbreaking work that demonstrates the vital role of accountability in the achievement of business results and the improvement of both individual and organizational performance. With more than a half million copies sold, The Oz Principle has emerged as one of the most influential and useful business ideas of recent times. The Oz Principle shows how to overcome The Blame Game that is so prevalent in organizations today. By taking the Steps to Accountability® and helping people See It®, Own It®, Solve It®, and Do It®, the authors help people move Above the Line® to take ownership for overcoming obstacles and getting results. The audio book spells out how to capture the power of positive accountability by helping people at every level of the organization ask the question, “What else can I do?” to achieve the result. The Oz Principle changed the fate of hundreds of companies because it works! People want to be accountable. Taking ownership of a business is exciting. So is improved performance. That’s why accountability has become a core management value for thousands of organizations throughout the world.

Straight and to the Point

This book was recommended to me by a colleague, and I was not disappointed. Mr. Connors outlines, in the simplest of terms, what must be done to experience happiness in all areas of life. Implementing the principles outlined in this book may not be easy, but it's simple. Connors does an excellent job to point out the characteristics of below-the-line thinking, and shows the steps to defeat it. I didn't realize until I heard this book how much of my own time and energy I was still wasting blaming outside circumstances for my own problems instead of taking control to confront them head on. If you're not open to self-change, you will likely find this book to be a waste of your time, but if you are, it provides a great foundation to begin.

The journey on the yellow brick road

I felt this book was a breath of fresh air during a time when employer/employee relationships are at an all time low with Covid-19. It's wonderful to see a new approach to using accountability to hold yourself responsible for the choices in your career as well as a stepping stone to pave the way for constructive criticism rather than allowing it to feel like falling down a dark hole. I wish I had found this book years ago and I look forward to the next book and chapters to come. I enjoyed the narrator and felt he articulated most areas of the book in a professional manner. Some times we perceive words to be pronounced in a different manner however I try never to get caught up on those and instead move forward keeping with the content and purpose of the book than how a word is spoken.

Great message on repeat

The message is great, but it repeats itself. For obvious reason, to get into our skull. It’s a little dated yet the message is timeless.

Good way to think! Simple way to view things!

This is a great book if you are new to the principles of proactivity. It is a bit repetitive if you are familiar with those principles.

WOW! Super Food for Success

What did you love best about The Oz Principle?

I have read enough book, as my husband says, to know everything on leadership and team building. This book has shown me a higher mountain where wise men teach. The Oz Principle teaches and leads you to understand yourself, those you work with and way to live above the line. It delivers thought provoking solutions that make you thirsty for more. it is so enriching I bought the paperback version to mark up and I have signed up for the self direct learning.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Oz Principle?

There was no one most memorable moments in the book but a continual stream of ideas, principles and applications that kept me engaged and wanting to start applying what I have learned.

What about Wayne Shepherd’s performance did you like?

Wayne Shepherd's voice is easy to listen to. He delivered the message with the inflection and emphasis that made this an enjoyable listen.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was amazed how many stories told were as if the author was reading my days diary of events. People, places and names may have been changed but I work with every one of these people types. That tells me I am not along in the desire to see better of myself and others on my team.

Any additional comments?

Get this book, listen and listen again. You will be better for it.
