Story
Today we think statistics are the enemy, numbers used to mislead and confuse us. That’s a mistake, Tim Harford says in The Data Detective. We shouldn’t be suspicious of statistics - we need to understand what they mean and how they can improve our lives: they are, at heart, human behavior seen through the prism of numbers and are often “the only way of grasping much of what is going on around us”.

In this age of big data, a basic grasp of statistical literacy is more important than ever if we want to separate the fact from the fiction, the ostentatious embellishments from the raw evidence - and even more so if we hope to participate in the future, rather than being simple bystanders.

Publisher's summary
Harvard Business Review called data science “the sexiest job of the 21st century,” so it's no surprise that data science jobs have grown up to 20 times in the last three years. With demand outpacing supply, companies are willing to pay top dollar for talented data professionals. However, to stand out in one of these positions, having foundational knowledge of interpreting data is essential. You can be a spreadsheet guru, but without the ability to turn raw data into valuable insights, the data will render useless. That leads us to data analytics and visualization, the ability to examine data sets, draw meaningful conclusions and trends, and present those findings to the decision-maker effectively.
Mastering this skill will undoubtedly lead to better and faster business decisions. The three audiobooks in this series will cover the foundational knowledge of data analytics, data visualization, and presenting data, so you can master this essential skill in no time. This series includes:
- Everything data analytics: a beginner's guide to data literacy and understanding the processes that turns data into insights.
- Beginner's guide to data visualization: how to understand, design, and optimize over 40 different charts.
- How to win with your data visualizations: the five part guide for junior analysts to create effective data visualizations and engaging data stories.
These three audiobooks cover an extensive amount of information, such as:
- Overview of the data collection, management, and storage processes.
- Fundamentals of cleaning data.
- Essential machine learning algorithms required for analysis such as regression, clustering, classification, and more....
- The fundamentals of data visualization.
- An in-depth view of over 40 plus charts and when to use them.
- A comprehensive data visualization design guide.
- Walkthrough on how to present data effectively.
And so much more!
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Greta has a long history with Gin’s first husband, Eddie, and is determined to protect his 18-year-old twins. Piper discovered the bodies. Daniel is missing—and so is Adam’s gun.

Data is everywhere and knowing how to use it can be very beneficial to your business.

As someone who works remotely from home and in customer service, I see data being collected, used, stored, etc. each and every day. I have so much to learn about data and had no idea just how little I knew until listening to this audiobook! While there is so much information within that I can't possibly absorb all the knowledge in one listen, I'm ecstatic to have this to listen to over and over again until it gets embedded in my head! Thanks so much for this and I highly recommend this!

Definitely NOT the first title I'd grab from my audiobooks, but when I stumbled across this title and gave it a listen...I was hooked!

Insightful, Valuable, & Engaging!
In this brilliant audiobook, the narrator teaches us how to break down complex data and tell the "story" of the numbers in a compelling "So What?" manner!
As a professional Paid Search analyst I deal with a lot of data and am constantly called upon to mine the data for useful, actionable insights for my clients - this brilliant resource gave me a ton of takeaways to deliver more value to my clients. Highly Recommend!

Great guide with awesome resource
If you like data analysis, this book is definitely for you! The author did an outstanding job hitting every single topic about data analysis. He managed to do it in an easy-to-understand way and not boring. I love that this bundle that is is separated into 3 main topics: analytic, visualization and presenting data. Very good reference book and I highly recommend it!
