Publisher's summary

Shannon MacLeod has always gone for the wrong type of man. After she drifted from one toxic relationship to the next, her last boyfriend gave her a wake-up call in the worst possible way. With her world shattered, she's sworn off men - especially those of the bad-boy variety.

Cole Walker is exactly the sort that Shannon wants to avoid - gorgeous, tattooed, charming, and cocky. But his rough exterior hides a good man who's ready to find "the one". He's determined to pull Shannon from her self-imposed solitude to win her heart.

As Shannon opens up in the face of Cole's steady devotion, the passion between them ignites to blazing levels. But when Shannon's past comes back to haunt her, her fears may destroy the trust Cole has built between them - and tear them apart for good.…

Meh

Any additional comments?

Maybe I'm to old for this book but the storyline is eye rolling bad. Minor SpoilersCole is wonderful the perfect book boyfriend and incredibly grown up. Now Shannon is TSTL and her family is unsupportive and jerks. Seriously she was beat up by her boyfriend! Yeah her brother went to jail for retaliation BUT he didn't have to beat him up that was his choice. But no it was all her fault.

Her sister Amanda is a stupid brat and I was quickly over her wah wah wah he has tattoos so he must be loser. Shannon's back and forth with Cole is an immature storyline that you would find in a YA book. Yes string him along I mean once ok, but enough. Her waxing on and on read like a therapy session. Oh whoa is me. RME

The only reason I gave it a 3 stars is because the writing is excellent the story however leaves much to be desired.

A fantastic story

Oh, Cole. Why can't you be mine?

Samantha Young, you have done it again. I keep falling in love with these characters you write and Cole is no exception. He might even been my favorite - although, don't tell Braden or Nate that!

Writing a series like On Dublin Street can be difficult. Often the quality of a series dwindles. But not with this one. Both Shannon's and Cole's characters gripped my heart from the beginning. I empathized and understood both of their histories and backgrounds and loved reading the attraction that fizzed between them. The story kept me glued and wanting to know where the next turn was going to take these two. This novel includes courage, resilience, love, and pure attraction intertwined between family feuds and cruel pasts.

"You're worth every bad thing that's ever happened to me, because going through them led me to you."

Just so yummy!

Excellent addition to the Dublin St series

Though I'm much older than the target audience for the Dublin Street series, I've really enjoyed the plot/story arc and narration on all of the novels I've heard...(with the exception of the "India Way" book, which really dragged for me snd which got sent right back due to the sorry narration).
Samamtha Young writes a great love story with super love scenes, in this book based in a Glasgow Tattoo Parlor.
Elle Newlands is the best narrator the series could have..fortunately her accent isn't 'Glaswegian'..which is totally impossible for the American ear to translate. Additionally she puts emotion into her reading of the book. Unlike Clohe Lynn who reads the India Way story, Newlands is a great narrator.

Start with the first book and if you enjoy it, suck it up and buy enough credits to get the rest of the series..well worth the credits for any woman from 20s to 80s.

Another great addition

I love all of the Dublin Street series, and this one is no exception. The characters are so beautifully developed that you can't help but love them. And I love that Samantha Young weaves the past characters in to each story. Although wonderfully written, the story fell a bit short for me. It didn't seem to have as much depth as the other stories in the series, but it is still a great listen. I loved Cole Walker's character, and it is refreshing to have such a good man as the hero. Shannon's character frustrated me at times...being quick to judge and so untrusting. But she grew on me over the course of the story, and I was routing for her before long. As for the narration, Elle Newlands did a great job with this story as well. A credit well spent!

Ok, but not as good as the others

Ok, but this book didn't have the same emotional draw as the others. I feel like there were lots of set ups for more story... such as ties with Joss or an ex, but they were never explored. Not bad though.

Loved Cole Walker

I love the On Dublin Street Series. Echoes of Scotland Street is the 5th book in the series and is Cole Walker's story. We've seen Cole as he grows up in each of the novels, and I've been so excited for him to finally get his story and find his own happily ever after. In fact, he's turned into one sexy beast, and I just loved him and everything about him in this installment. Shannon MacLeod is new to the series and is Cole's love interest. Of all the female leads so far in the series, she has been my least favorite, but she did grow on me as the story progressed, just not as much as the other females thus far in the series. She's had a tough go of it though, and as you get further into the story, you find out why she is the way she is and reacts the way she does to certain things. You also get to find out a lot more about Cole's past, which just makes you want to hug him and squeeze him even more.

The romance in the story is hot, sexy, and chemistry filled, as are all of Samantha Young's novels. Another thing I love about the book is that it incorporates all the previous characters from the series into the story and I really enjoyed getting glimpses of them and seeing where they were at and what they were doing at this point in their lives.

Overall, Echoes of Scotland Street is another great installment in a series that I've fully enjoyed. Samantha Young delivers another hot guy and another steamy romance to all her fans all wrapped up in a great story..........I mean, what more could a contemporary romance fan ask for.

Glad they brought back Elle Newlands!

I liked that this story didn't completely follow what I'd come to expect from this series. Still good, still full of passion, less of the angst in the middle. This is a story of growth and second chances. Love the series!
