Publisher's summary

He ties women up to set them free. She’s not looking for his kind of freedom....

Matteo Ignatius is a corporate consultant who teaches companies how to be kinky, although he doesn’t call it that. He’s also a rope-bondage master. One proud of his tools and in search of the best.

Liane Granger is a flannel-clad artist with a dandelion tattoo and a life that doesn’t need a man, much less the new kitten she somehow acquired when she wasn’t paying attention. She makes handcrafted rope in her small studio on Kootenay Lake and runs an on-again, off-again B&B. One of her best customers is coming to spend the night and pick up a special order.

Which sounds really simple until he walks in her studio door and uses her own ropes to tie her up.

esoteric romance

A little to much in the heads stuff for this to be an easy listen. It was an ok romance . I think you have to like shabari because there is a lot of that so requires a lot of visualization. Not really my cup of tea.

good rapid development romance

this is a good typical romance in that the romance develops much to quickly for believability. The kink concept was interesting. IMHO there was entirely too much in scene negotiation happening that twisted this sub's foul play buttons. Otherwise, if you keep it in the context of a fun kinky romance and take out real world kink miss-steps it was an enjoyable listen.

Totally lost in this book!

I can't wait to start the next book! Liane loves her ropes that she loving makes by hand. she interviews her clients to meet their needs, one day a sexy Dom came to her. The heat and passion between them is flaming hot! This is a first book for me from Lilia Moon but definitely not my last. Both narrarators Ava Erickson and Jeffrey Kafer were phenomenal and I will be watching for their names 😉

Lovely and soft

This book is such a pleasant and soft surprise. While a small part of me was disappointed that in this book about rope bondage the sex scenes weren’t more detailed considering audible has it categoriesed as ‘red hot’, they definitely sit more in the ‘seductive or sexy’ category. Nevertheless i ended up really enjoying it.
The narration was great. It was a nice break from the usual over the top angst you get from this sort of romance genre. You just get to spend most of the book enjoying the development and exploration of the relationship.

Loved this series

I found this after listening to the Fettered series and love this one even more. I like that it took things out of the club and put them in everyday life instead. It made it more realistic and relatable to listeners. The book was sexy but I would not categorize it as red hot, as it has a lot of implied sensuality without being overly explicit with details.

Gentle bondage as both healing and art

Lilia Moon writes the most perceptive, least exploitative, kink novels I've found. If all men interested in exploring sexual dominance would read Lilia Moon's books, they would be vastly more successful, and much more desirable to submissives..

Happily surprised

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m happy I found this. While I like the story itself it is how it’s written that has me happily surprised. It’s the intelligence and deliberate work behind the story that I love. Most light romance novels are just that - light easy reading without much substance. Don’t get me wrong I love those, they are great while working out doing chores and just relaxing at the end of the day when your mind is tired. But this is different there is so much symbolism and imagery that it can only be intentional. I love the author took the time weave those qualities into the story. It’s refreshing to have a light book to listen to that also engages your mind just a little.

Don't miss this author's BDSM-themed romances!!

There are too many BDSM-themed romances on the market to count, let alone read. Of the ones I have read, even if well written, (interesting characters, plot, grammar, punctuation), far too many authors treat the kink as decoration or a substitute for plot. Frighteningly few authors talk about consent and safety. Ms Moon is a delightful exception. Twisted Strands keeps the consent right up front, without being preachy. The topic is simply woven into the male lead's character. Physical and emotional safety are integral story elements, both his and hers. I really loved that although Matteo is presented as an experienced Dom and corporate hotshot, we get to see his vulnerability. The way both leads stretched to make room for each other left me feeling upbeat and hopeful. The delightfully sketched secondary characters are obviously going to be the focus of additional books. I'll be looking for them as soon as I submit this review.

Not as good

as Naughty for Christmas, but not bad. Rope making turns out to be an interesting art.
