It's pretty good

The narrator's voice on this tale is very soothing, to the point where I used it to fall asleep a couple times. The story was well written, and contained things I've never encountered before. It's not the most exciting story I've ever read, but I didn't get bored and I finished the whole thing. It's worth a listen.

A dark space adventure.

A good addition to the pantheon that looks into the future through a mirror darkly. It brings some of the familiar elements of stories like The Expanse and Aliens while contributing subtle reflections on the human condition. Powerful soulless corporations, fallen Alien civilizations, mysterious threats to humanity, and a rag tag team trying to survive them all. You will love it...little bird.

I’ve been waiting

I’m very specific in my reading genre (autism) I’ve been looking for a space opera horror/thriller forever that wasn’t Asimov. The characters are raw and real, I felt their uneasiness and fear. AMAZING READ. Brb while I start it over.

Man the first 3/4 of this books was a giant nothing!

The ending of this book was really well done but it felt like it took forever to get to the point.

a solid premise that flops at the end

the book built up multiple plot threads that are all dropped in the last quarter in favor of an underbaked and unsatisfying threat. lots of cool ideas but it felt totally wasted by the end. The MC overcoming her challenges felt unearned as well.

Fun space horror

A fun story that moves right along - lots to enjoy and figure out. Nods to Sphere, The Thing, Alien, Event Horizon.

Good story but difficult to tolerate at times

As always a good story and great performance but, as always too insufferable angst is present. At least, 20% of the story consists of the protagonist whining and endless self analysis. Sometimes I wonder if the author is trying to use her books as some sort of therapy instead of just producing a book.

Another scary space situation!

I loved Dead Silence so the second I saw this one was coming I ordered it, loved this one too! Fantastic narrator! Creeping building dread in claustrophobic atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The Wait is Over!

After Dead Silence, I couldn't wait for SA Barnes's next novel, and it did not disappoint! It started a little slower that the former novel, but did a great job with character development. This is my favorite genre of stories and SA Barnes is doing a great job filling it!

What do you call an audio page turner?

Kept me on the edge of my car seat because I listen to Audible while commuting. Great sci-fi/horror/suspense!
